Please help, my garden is becoming the local cat toilet.

Can anyone recommend anything to stop this, my idea of collecting it all and leaving it on the owners doorstep is my next option.

I had a different problem to you...cats sleeping on/in my car engine. I solved it with an electronic cat scarer/repeller. They retail at around £25 (didn't want to pay that much) I got it from ebay for around £7 inc p&p. The one I have has a passive and triggers when the cat approaches.

I love watching them run when they trigger it <evil grin>
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

we have same problem the garden is full of poo cos next door have so many cats roaming in and out ive lost count! anyway we put mothballs in garden they dont like the smell but they soon come back in not long after so thats not worked! i have heard they dont like dettol but cant think of anyway to introduce dettol as we used to scrub path with jeyes and that didnt bother them either! also i have a rabbit so i wish i could get rid of them because my rabbit is always out and i am worried they may bother him one day!
there is also a problem with flies because next door let cats poo all over yard but dont use yard so they dont clean poo up and it stinks really bad and there are flies coming in and out of my kitchen they all sit on their washing line in a long line!!!!!!! husband asked them nicely if they'd clean yard but they cant be bothered, i dont think it's fair on my children(2 and 4) cos they like eating picnics out there! if anyone knows what i can put down or do it would be much appreciated many thanks!
ps, if you squint at a cat does it mean you like them or dislike them? i saw a programme on telly but cant remember which way round it is!
ps, in summer if my door is open they also come in the house and so that really annoys me because i feel i have to shut my door!

If you know where the cat lives send all the mess back into their garden.
What are they going to do? Come around and complain that they have their own cats mess? :rotfl: :rotfl:
You should not have to pay out of your own pocket to buy things to keep other peoples animals out of your garden.

Cats are for people who do not want to look after their animals so they just let them roam around other peoples property, mess in gardens, walk all over the cars and urinate up the wheels and garage doors.

After my young daughter picked up some cat mess while playing in the garden I found a great way of ensuring that cats do not use my garden as a toilet ever again. ;)
  • We've not had any cats poo in our garden since we've had our dog!

She makes an ideal cat scarer (one woof and they are gone!) and with her wee and poo confined to one area of the garden, its obviously enough to keep everything else away from our garden.

Plus dogs are better than cats ;) *sits back and watches the sparks fly* :rotfl:

Hehe... only playing, but this has worked for us....and I'd not seen this suggested previously....

It does indeed work but going out to get a dog solely with the purpose to scare the cats doesn't seem quite right somehow.

I know this sounds horrible but it might work. Instead of getting a dog could you either ask someone you know with a dog to come round? They might mark their scent on the grass and therefore scare the cats away. The other tip I was told was to spread used tea leaves on the grass from either loose tea or empty your old tea bags out.

I did read or heard somewhere that your own wee is suppose to deter them.

Told hubby he could wee in the bottle and then splash it around the garden :rotfl:

We have a whole driveway full of cat sh*te. If I could just catch one of them mid session I'd p*55 all over it ;)
