Thanks for the advice - I think it belongs to the people who live behind us because I looked out the window after shouting at it and noticed the lady was outside her back door talking to it - the trap is very tempting but maybe not such a good idea in the circumstances! Might try water next time though!
  • You could always buy one of those cat flaps that only let your cat in through the collar it wears. Might stop the invasion of your house!

I was going to suggest throwing water over it as well. I had to do this to stop two cats fighting in my garden once. Fur was literally flying on that occasion and it was the only thing they responded to.

when this happened to us we set the catflap to IN only and waited. Armed with winter motorcycle gloves and jacket and my trusty pump action water pistol. When it was daft enough to come in (my cats asleep in bedroom!) we did battle in the kitchen until it understood who's teritory it was, then opened door, it's not been back since. Good Luck!

That sounds like fun kroome:D , did you film it for 'You've been framed' too? I'm sure you could've made a tidy sum from it.

My other half did something similar when a neighbours cat kept coming through the window whenever it was open and peeing on his bed.
He waited until he found it in his room, sprayed it with flea spray (because he says all cats hate flea spray ;)) and squirted it with a water gun. He said it was great fun because obviously the cat wouldnt stand still. He didnt have the heart to close the window before he started so the whole thing only lasted about two minutes before the cat was up and out the window. It never came back though.

That does sound funny! Yesterday I would have been only to glad to be able to open the back door but the cat wouldn't let me past to open it!

    No visit so far today...

I know a great cat scare, a pot noodle horn. I have a cat too, that sleeps most fo the time. We do however have another cat that seems to like living in my backyard, it aint mine. Lovely as it is, it likes to help itself to our cats food and sleeps onmy shed, but damages the roof with its claws, so I now take it upon myself to discourage it by using the hirn. Dont have to play it loud either now, just blow gentle and it gets the message.

I had the same problem and I went to a pet shop to ask advice. They said I should save tea bags and then open them and sprinkle wet tea leaves all around wherever you don't want them to go. I don't know if he was having me on or not
