LOL.......I have the same problem with the neighbours dogs. They caught me today threatening them with GBH. They even bought me a big iron sign that shows a dog crouching doing its business with a big NO!!

Is driving me nuts because my feet seem to home in on the deposits. Trouble is they sneak up when I'm not looking!!! Arghhhhhhhh
  • Maybe set uo some kind of sprinkler system connected to sensors, so when an animal goes on your lawn, it gets soaked - LOL, failing that criss-cross you garden with stakes and string as cats hate tangling their feet - pain to walk over but they learn not to go there after a while and then you can take it down??

well at least you know who is doing it. if i was in your place i would set my camcorder/webcam to cover the garden. once you have found new droppings then view your camcorder. if its the neighbours dogs then after the clip set the camcorder to record, walk to the waste, pick it up and throw it into their garden. personally would use a catapault which will spatter the waste. if your neighbours complain then show them the video clip to prove its their property you are simply returning, after all they would expect u to return their belongings if it came to your garden, for example football.

if it gets out of hand then threaten them for throwing rubbish/toxic waste/dumping in ur garden.
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D
  • We had the same problem with cats and so cut some rose bushes down a bit and scattered them on the garden. This seemed to keep the cats off. I have also heard that raw onion scattered over the gardens helps.

cats hate lemon juice, someone told me once to spread cut lemons round the edge. if the waste is above ground it is probably doge though as cats tend to bury theirs.

just moved into new house and next door has 2 cats that seem to think my garden is a toilet. Dont want to get off on a bad foot with new neighbours, so does anyone have any reliable methods of keeping them away from my newly dug borders?

I have heard that lion poo is very effective, although I cannot vouch for this, as I've never tried it!

You're not that far from Chester - could you contact the zoo and ask if they let people have it?

By all accounts, the scent of a MUCH larger cat in your garden will make them stay well clear. I have no idea how much you would need, or how often you'd have to replace it. And, just to be extra helpful, I have no idea where I heard this! The theory sounds right to me though. :D

If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

If no joy from the lions' enclosure you could try buying online. Try...Gone Gardening
