    You're right. £850/month on each house costing £250k isn't a good yield :)

Particularly as you would not have any rent if you evict the tenants.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Pastures, have you thought about speaking to your local council? Your local borough council should have a list and contain the councillor for your part of the borough. My local councillor is really good with stuff like that.

That wouldn't occur to me at all - and I can't see that they can do anything. The council have no powers on the land, it's a private close.

There are worse things happening all over the country, with "the powers that be" being useless and toothless in dealing with things.

Indeed "there are worse" - there are actually council tenants on an estate in the area where the kids are so feral they threw rocks at the buses and the buses refused to run services at all for months - and "nothing can be done". Even really bad people are "untouchable", where powers do exist to sort them out - nothing's done.

I am really surprised by the buses. To say that nobody can do anything is frankly b*llocks (not saying this about you, rather whoever said it). That's the whole point of community policing and having PCSOs on the beat. To nip these things in the bud before they take hold and you end up with with no go areas.

Councillors have local budgets to spend on the area. You could write to your local councillor and say something along the lines of:

I am writing by email rather than contacting you directly as I have Aspergers and find this easiest. We are having on going problems with children playing around cars and (describe problem and where you live). Can you please advise whether there is anything you can do to help resolve this problem, e.g. by using part of the localities budget to provide somewhere for the children to go, or arranging for a PCSO to visit to discuss the danger of and problems with playing there to the children and their families.

(You may also wish to describe the impact it has on you.)

I would also appreciate any correspondence between us being treated as confidential as I am a vulnerable adult and live alone.

PLEASE ADVISE WHEN YOU HAVE READ AND I WILL DELETE.

Re. writing to the Councillors, I think they would take a dim view of anyone doing that before the parents had been approached by affected residents for a formal discussion about the issue.

I think they would need it demonstrated that all avenues had been explored to resolve the problem, before the big guns are brought in.

Going straight to Councillors would only antagonise the families concerned, I would say.

Pastures, do you know if any other residents in the Close are affected by the kids?

But a good councillor would treat the issue sensitively Pyxis. It shouldn't be about pressing the nuclear button. Here (and I don't know how the system is set up where PN lives) they do a lot to protect vulnerable adults.

The whole point is that it is hard for pastures to discuss this with the neighbours, so can she get an intermediary to act on her behalf.

If a PCSO came round, I wouldn't see that as reading the riot act, rather just turning up unannounced and discussing the green cross code, rather like the beat Bobby of old would have done.

Another alternative is that there is an aspergers support group in pastures' s county, though closer to where you used to live. You could speak to them about how to handle your case, then they can suggest what to do, with better on the ground knowledge than us.

I'm just annoyed for you pastures. We have really good, active, community support around here.

No, it's a car parking area. Tarmac, turning areas. Not my land.

The swearing is because the Tourettes starts off.... I can't choose. And I'm sure I'd get a biff on the snout if I rushed out and attacked them with a water pistol.

    Yes, I see your point.
However, I'm looking at it from the point of view of the parents, suddenly being approached by an authority figure contacted by one of their neighbours.

On another thread, there was a poster who had put some rubbish in their front garden for when they could take it to the tip.
They found that a neighbour had contacted the Council about it without even talking to her about it.
I expect you can guess how she felt.
It starts up a 'them and us ' situation.

The neighbours obviously don't know Pastures or how things affect her, so if they did, they might be more understanding. Contacting the Apserger's group sounds like a very good idea indeed, as they could explain things to the neighbours, and act as mediators.
Understanding very often brings resolution. Not understanding leads to resentment, so having someone who can explain about Asperger's could be the way to go.

Don't get me wrong, I loathe any sort of confrontation, however mild, so I can well appreciate how difficult it is to approach other people about a problem.
I once had a neighbour who objected to something I was having done on my property, and so I spent a lot of money trying to mitigate it, but whatever I did, she still wasn't happy, and it was all terribly upsetting, and I dreaded leaving my house or using the back garden in case she started making comments, until one day I saw a 'Sold' sign outside her house.

(The 'new' neighbour and I get on extremely well!).

For a while, the neighbours opposite had two boys who used to kick a football about in the street. Doof doof was annoying enough (what is it about the noise a ball makes?), but I had just bought my brand new car, and I was scared of footballs landing on it, so like Pastures, I was completely on edge, constantly looking out, so I know what it's like, I really do.

I've thought about putting my fag butts outside my gate ... providing a nifty "free cigarette dispensing machine" to inquisitive kids :)

Yesterday I saw a neighbour's visitor walk up to the front door and ring the bell - before she'd rung it there was something like a 6 year old squeezing between the door and her and looking up at her ...the door opened and it looked like the kid was going to rush in/follow her in. "How bl00dy annoying for her" I thought when all she wants to do is visit a friend - and for the two of them to not have to engage with a child to say "Oi - hop it .... you can't come in here". Some are super-nosey - neighbours with open boots find a child pressed against their thigh seeing what they're doing.

There are usually 6-9, in a space it's hard to reverse/park/turn in to start with. It's not "the street", none of it is public land, none communal. Planning permission did not grant any areas to be designated as play areas or available as play/open/communal areas. Not one inch.

As for those soakers .... they've got those.... I'd lose.
