And now they've got full blown metal whistles....
Why aren't they at school?
Tell you what....... trade in your house for one of the new ones preferably not at the end of a Close.

Most of the time they might not be there - but there's always the fear they're about to start.
Certainly can't sit outside in the garden or have the windows open.
The constant stress isn't good for you, Pastures. :A
I think V's idea of contacting an Asperger's bod is a really good one.
How many separate families with children are involved? And how many houses don't have children and are bothered by them too?
Just trying to work out if you're in the minority or if the children's families are.
Has anyone ever spoken to the parents before?
If not, they might have no idea their children are causing a nuisance. Seems incredible, but some people take the view that if no-one says anything, then they can't mind.(I just lurve spiders!)

Some I don't know at all/have never seen, so no idea what others think.
4 houses contain the nuisance. So under 1/3rd.
One neighbour said months ago they were thinking of letter-dropping.
The trouble is, due to the layout etc one never sees neighbours... unless you're actually going to sit in your parked car for hours and hours and actually wait for one to arrive/leave so you can nab them between car and door.
When you are childless you're on the back foot as you're automatically "trumped" in the eyes of the owners. They automatically take the stance that anybody without them is an intolerant, bitter child hating individual.0 -
I nodded off, so missed the start. Today money/tat, she had a bit of old wool/felt and made some birds and shoved those onto the edge of some plant pots .... and sold them, of course. A couple were sold to a cafe in Chichester. Private people bought the other 3. £194 for 5.
Spent £6 on the felting needles.

I've done felting - once. It took me ONE hour to make a ball well under 1cm in size.0 -
If no-one has actually spoken to the parents, maybe that's the first step.
It would involve knocking on their door, though. I'm not sure a letter is good initial move; with neighbours, the personal approach is much better in the first instance. I know that if I got a letter, rather than a knock on the door, I'd be pretty upset.
Best to take the approach of "Sorry to bother you, but there's something that's been upsetting me for a while, now. Could I have a word with you about it?" Type of thing. Definitely no anger or defensiveness, though.
You never know, they might be mortified that their kids are upsetting people. As I said, sometimes people take the view that no news is good news and are astounded when told differently.
Of course, they might also tell you to p- off, but at least you'd know where you stood. I doubt that would happen, though.
The trick is in not appearing to diss them as parents, as that can get people's hackles up.
It's a fine line, though, which is where an Asperger's bod might come in useful.
Or you could start the conversation by telling the parent that you have Asperger's so you're sorry if you appear blunt, but that it's difficult for you to talk to people.(I just lurve spiders!)

One said the other week that he was on the verge of banging on a door. I've been quite clear with both of them that I, too, am seriously affected and, just so they know, I'm in the camp of "stop it, now".

It sounds like you might be able to get a delegation together. You could lurk at the back and let the others do the talking. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

A delegation is going to appear very confrontational, I think sending one representative (not PN) on behalf of the group may be better.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. On a lighter note, we had snot soup for supper.
It's a thick soup made from broccoli, then blended, but not too much, so it still has some texture. Hence, the name.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
