Bummer... I wanted to buy something by midnight tonight. A 1 month/£1 offer. Trouble is, I'd misread the deadline.... that offer was until midnight last night.0

We are having a take away at friends. Disorganised friends - it has taken 2 group chats to sort the menu, followed by friend having strict instructions to specify that we will collect order, she has accepted their offer to deliver. Based on past performance the delivery booked for 9 will arrive around 11, by which time we will have all stuffed ourselves on crisps and nibbles.
Soon after midnight we will disperse, at which point the friends who have a tendency to drive under the influence will offer everyone a lift. Everyone else will say they are happy to walk and they will then claim they haven't drunk that much. They will then go off in a sulk and make a point of messaging everyone to say they got home safely.
Did I say I wasn't looking forward to tonight?
Hope it wasn't as awful as you feared. Sending hugs to cheer you up in case it was.
Just finished watching films with DS and DD. Wishing a happy New Year to all NP.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
I bucked the trend....I went out with Josh to the pub and watched a band. Joe went to a house party, he has finally realised after telling him 17 times, that it is 2017.
I am now banning him from drinking alcohol in the future, it is too much like hard work!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

For example, a programme I'd recorded on Friday evening failed halfway through, so on Saturday afternoon I looked it up to see if there was a repeat, and there was, referenced at "01.30 Saturday"
So my first thought was aaaargh! I've missed the repeat! Then I remembered that when they say eg Saturday, the TV day runs from 06.00 Saturday through to 06.00 Sunday, so I hadn't missed the repeat after all! ( 06.00 Sat to 06.00 Sun is all classed as Saturday).
HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!
I fell asleep quite early, then woke at about 10.30 pm, then fell asleep, again, then was woken up at 00.10 by fireworks and screaming. Not ooh-aah screams, but proper blood-curling screams, after every bang and whoosh.
There is a house a couple of hundred yards away that always has fireworks at every opportunity.
I don't mind so much now, but it was awful when I had my dogs.
Anyway, I got back to sleep, again, and then woke up at my normal time of 04.00.
I think I might go and let off some fireworks!(I just lurve spiders!)

Happy New Year to all!
We had a good, if fairly quiet, evening. Loads of food left over, just as well I didn't buy anything specific to eat tonight.
One friend made lemon meringue pie, the other made cinnamon cake. We still have plenty to finish. I think we may also have made a profit on the alcohol, as people brought more than we drunk.
In bed just after 1 but didn't sleep much - up now to get on with the day. Plenty of other people's tax returns to be getting on with now.0 -
Happy New Year.
I had the telly on, saw half the London fireworks (I find it boring really, don't like fireworks and if I am going to watch them I'd prefer the camera to stay still) .... and then I appear to have nodded off within the next 5 minutes, followed by a restless night waking up 100x.
Feeling groggy now.
There's gentle rain outside.0
