Asda are a really weird lot! I ordered 10 packs of 12 razor blades, which are on special offer. Nothing else in the order, but it comes to £100 + £3 delivery. Numerous communications about order being picked, dispatched, delivered early.....

Their driver arrives, looking puzzled. He has driven for 20 minutes from his last delivery. We are 25 miles from the nearest ASDA store. In his hand he has a single packet of 4 blades, costing £13 including delivery, which I declined to accept. That was it. Why not just say they couldn't fulfil the order in the first place?
I got two packs the week before xmas, ordered them click and collect for next day as fed up with going 4 miles to the store for specials and finding them out of stock, got emails saying order was complete so risked journey and sure enough was able to collect. Click and collect guy slightly bemused to be giving me items I could yave picked up from shelf in 10 seconds but he didn't know I also got a tenner back from quidco for the online order :)
    I think....

Anyway, what are you lot doing?

Well, I was supposed to be going for supper and the evening with a friend I teach with - just her and me and DD. However, she's called to say she's not well, so I'll be at home with DD and DS instead. Will be out for lunch with a bunch of friends tomorrow, though.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I'm in on my own till just after 8 when DH will be home from work. Eating pringl@s, no booze as on painkillers after spraining my ankle last night.

Doubtful that we'll stay up to midnight, DH has a 6am start at work tomorrow. Oh the joys of retail.
Spend less now, work less later.

I'm having friends round. Probably 6 of us, possibly a couple of extra strays.
Casserole 1 is in the oven, will start casserole 2 soon then do some potatoes, rice and veg.
They are bringing puddings. If not there won't be any.
We don't make a big thing of New Year so once we have toasted the New Year at midnight they all go home, we load the dishwasher once more and go to bed.
One of those who is coming is a midwife and she is on duty from 6.30 ish on New Year's Day (12.5 hour shift), followed by the same on Jan 2nd. Rather her than me.

No rock 'n' roll lifestyle on this thread, then! :rotfl: :rotfl: ;)

And I've finished my Christmas single malt!

Edit. Hang on, there is still the sloe gin, though.
Except that can give me a headache if I'm not careful! :rotfl:

We are having a take away at friends. Disorganised friends - it has taken 2 group chats to sort the menu, followed by friend having strict instructions to specify that we will collect order, she has accepted their offer to deliver. Based on past performance the delivery booked for 9 will arrive around 11, by which time we will have all stuffed ourselves on crisps and nibbles.

Soon after midnight we will disperse, at which point the friends who have a tendency to drive under the influence will offer everyone a lift. Everyone else will say they are happy to walk and they will then claim they haven't drunk that much. They will then go off in a sulk and make a point of messaging everyone to say they got home safely.

Did I say I wasn't looking forward to tonight?
