On a similar note, underneath the wallpaper in my old bedroom is pictures and signatures with ages, in paint, of me and my brother.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

The previous owners here had marked on the wall the heights of their children at various ages. I assume they'd made some copy. It took a few month's for this house to feel like my home and scrubbing off their height chart was the final act.

I just don't get this desire to 'save' water, water is not destroyed in use, just part of a cycle. The uk is generally not in water stress and the marginal cost of each extra litre is negligible.

Yes, but flushing loos with grey water saves on purifying water to the point of being fit to drink. Not that it's top of my list of environmental improvements to make, but I do see the point of it.

For the same sentimental reason, the piece of pine wall cladding with the children's increasing heights marked over the years, was carefully removed when I moved house, and another plain piece put in its place.
That piece of pine is very precious! :rotfl:

My heights, along with those of my brothers, my own kids, most of my nephews and my niece, along with various cousins, uncles, friends, dogs, and at least one hamster, are on the central panel of the door between the kitchen and breakfast room in my dad's house. The rest of the door has been repainted, but that central panel has not, and the white has gone yellow with age. I've said I want the door whenever he finally moves out of the house, and I'll get it resized to fit my own kitchen.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

If you have no lower case letters in your entire post, MSE assumes you are typing in capitals by mistake and tries to helpfully turn your post into lower case for you. so ": T" without the space becomes ": t"

    ": T" is :T

    whereas ": t" is not a recognised smiley :t

Well, I'll go to the foot of my stairs! :rotfl:

I've been wondering about that for ages and ages!

I knew it turned the T into t, but never knew why!

It's just like its obsession with exclamation marks., :rotfl:

Asda are a really weird lot! I ordered 10 packs of 12 razor blades, which are on special offer. Nothing else in the order, but it comes to £100 + £3 delivery. Numerous communications about order being picked, dispatched, delivered early.....

Their driver arrives, looking puzzled. He has driven for 20 minutes from his last delivery. We are 25 miles from the nearest ASDA store. In his hand he has a single packet of 4 blades, costing £13 including delivery, which I declined to accept. That was it. Why not just say they couldn't fulfil the order in the first place?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

There should have been a manual exceptions system that flagged it up so a human could give you a call ....

I've often wondered what'd happen if I ordered £100 of one thing ... and now I know, they fail.

    Ok.

So, who is going out on the razzle tonight? :D

    Spill the beans!

(Why DO we say that? I'll google it in a minute!)

I'm not. I'm in bed 'cos feeling a bit unwell, again. Anyway, I find it almost impossible to stay awake until midnight.

What has happened in the past is that I struggle on to about 23.40, fall asleep, then wake up at about 00.20.

    So I've stopped trying now!
If there's something on the Teev I really want to see at midnight, I record it and watch it later!

As it's only a spurious date, it no longer holds any particular joy for me, anyway!

I think that the solstice night has more meaning, really.

Anyway, what are you lot doing?
