We are having a take away at friends. Disorganised friends - it has taken 2 group chats to sort the menu, followed by friend having strict instructions to specify that we will collect order, she has accepted their offer to deliver. Based on past performance the delivery booked for 9 will arrive around 11, by which time we will have all stuffed ourselves on crisps and nibbles.
Soon after midnight we will disperse, at which point the friends who have a tendency to drive under the influence will offer everyone a lift. Everyone else will say they are happy to walk and they will then claim they haven't drunk that much. They will then go off in a sulk and make a point of messaging everyone to say they got home safely.
Did I say I wasn't looking forward to tonight?
Ok, either ring the takeaway and change the instructions or if it hasn't arrived by 9.30, go and get it.
Ring the influential friends now and have a polite friendly word with them, about not offering anyone a lift, and anyway, why don't they walk too? Just because they've always got home safely in the past, doesn't mean they will this time. Better they take offence than have an accident, or get pulled over by the polis!
Happy New Year!(I just lurve spiders!)

They are too touchy on this subject to have a friendly word. Trust me, we have tried in the past.
Really the best result would be if they got pulled over.
It will pass.

OH has just hung our original Rowson cartoons in the hall. :j Having just come up to bed after short trip to porch for a cig followed by my consultation as to where to hang the pictures I haven't gone to look at them yet. To refresh your memories they're the Morris Traveller Cartoons. This and that. Pictures of them framed and hanging to follow when there's enough light!
We plan to quaff a bottle of Aldi Champagne - we had a bottle on Christmas Day and really enjoyed it. Currently I'm enjoying a G&T.Suspect we won't be going out to meet the neighbours at midnight - my sleep patterns are so f*d up I'll prob fall asleep around 10pm if I last that long.
Hope you all have a fun evening and a Happy New Year! :beer:0 -
We'll be at home too. I'm coming down with something. But I'm sure that the boozy pudding shots that were cheap in Aldi will help. I don't drink. But that doesn't stop me eating alcohol:D.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
