Not applicable to me, but mine is usually done in about July/August time. Much better to have it early on, and those that try to find an accountant last week of January I'll never understand.
I've had the figures this year since the end of June, as I needed proof of income for something early on.💙💛 💔0 -

Nah, seriously, I don't usually (*) pay any nowadays coz my pension is below the basic rate threshold - which also means that all the interest (what there is of it nowadays) and stocks divvies I get (outside my ISAs) is also tax-free
I said "usually" because that is normally the case. However, my pension scheme has done an actuarial reduction reassessment and decided that they weren't paying me enough. They've upped it by around £60 a month and backdated that to October 2015 - because of all the back pay they paid me this month, it was enough to tip me over the PAYE threshold so I did have some deducted this month :-(
Handily, even with the increase my annual pension will still be just below the basic rate tax threshold so I should get the £43 back eventually.0 -

Last year was the only one where I left the tax returns till Jan - this yeas and every other they were done asap. May be connected with whether we owed them or they owed us.....I think....0 -

Just popping in while it's quiet. Apologies for recent absence - finding energy and non-apathy to do non-essentials has been hard the last few months. But 2017 is another year!Doozergirl wrote: »You take on so much. I spent too many years trying to make things perfect and repeatedly made myself ill. There's no use doing the same things and expecting a different result. It may well be that others aren't capable of stepping up to the plate, but it doesn't mean that you are either. It needs to be managed, and spread out - both in time and responsibility.

Don't be hard on yourself and be mindful of every minute. Try to enjoy the 'doing' and not place the emphasis on getting things 'done', if you see what I mean. If stuff doesn't happen, stuff it, just enjoy what you can do. 🙂
If I could like this twice, I would. Really well put.Youngest is still stressing over his uni choices, he is now thinking of withdrawing from his other choices and accepting the Lincoln unconditional as the stress is getting too much for him. To be fair, Lincoln was his first choice, the city was perfect for him, the course a perfect fit, he loved the uni and the area and the transport for him travelling alone is easy and not too expensive.
As impressed as he was by the York interview offer, the uni is really too far out of the city to be practical.
(I've still got to read the more recent posts, so you may have updated since this post). If, as you say, Lincoln ticks so many 1st place boxes, then I imagine that going to other places would eliminate any residual doubts about whether the other places were even better - but brings with it the added stress. If the added stress is a greater issue than the desire to eliminate, it sounds like it's a no-brainer to accept Lincoln now.
Public transport for York Uni is excellent, but if it would bring him out of his comfort zone then it's a really important thing to consider.0 -

Learnt a couple of minor lessons for next year's event... to improve it to perfection... like ... don't forget the Yorkshire.
Well done - what an achievement! Good luck with remembering the Yorkies ... I forget them every year despite writing them in bigger and bigger font on my list of things to cook ... one of these years I'll remember

"Careless Whisper" - all time favourite. So shocked to hear the news. That is from the book my DW bought me for my birthday. The Ladybird how it works series for adults, this one is titled The Wife.
Haha! I got The Ladybird Book of Red Tape! (I've just noticed its authors also wrote "Britain: A Nation of Manhole Covers").
' "Your call is important to us", says the lady on the help-line.
The call is important because it is currently making the company 48p per minute.'0 -

The only posters on my bedroom wall [ETA as a teenager] were of Wham! and George Michael. Dad took the mickey something chronic!!
I have come across a Country Music TV channel on Freeview (Keep It Country, channel 87), which I rather enjoy. Didn't dare inflict it on my classical-music loving Mum while she was here over Christmas, but it's really quite relaxing! Poor quality transmission (not very high resolution) at times, and some of the tracks are a bit (!) cheesy and/or old. But it still lowers the blood pressure a bit.
Now, all I need to find are some line dancing classes for the New Year ...0
