Oh thank you viva! That's going to be very useful for my son, I think (though sadly it may not spur him on enough to get it done by then.)0 -
Who would be watching?
An automatic flush would mean you couldn't do the 'if it's yellow, let it mellow' thing and save even more water.
That probably wouldn't matter in my house, but in a house with several people, it might.
Touching the flush handle/button isn't the only problem, though. What about the door handle? And everything else.
I would like to see automatic doors at the entrance to public loos.I think....0 -

Did everyone cheer when someone came out of the loo after the red light came on?
Out of interest, what was under that particular kilt?I just don't get this desire to 'save' water, water is not destroyed in use, just part of a cycle. The uk is generally not in water stress and the marginal cost of each extra litre is negligible.
If you are on a water meter, though, you are paying for every drop, so I suppose it makes sense not to waste it needlessly.
Also, waste water has to be cleaned to be reused, and everyone pays for that regardless of whether on a meter or a rateable value assessment.
In my case, my drains/pipes are a combined system, so the grey water isn't separated from the foul water before it hits the main sewer in the street.(I just lurve spiders!)

Sue, about a year ago, someone I knew who was undergoing chemo, and so had to protect their immune system, was advised by the hospital to use a particular type of hand foam from Boots, and she told me about it.
What hadn't occurred to me was that the usual gels and sprays kill bacteria, but not viruses, and as colds and most coughs are viral in origin, they wouldn't be of much use for those infections. The Boots foam spray kills viruses too.
It's not cheap though, and has a use-by date to watch out for.
I started using it to try to avoid my constantly being ill.
They do a large size and a small pocket size. I keep one of the latter in my handbag, and have a large size at home/in the car, etc.
You might like to look into it.......

You do still have to pay it whichever way you choose... either as a lump sum by 31 January or by reducing your net pay every month for the next tax year.0 -

Coo! Yes! That 1p deal was a right bummer in hindsight! :rotfl:
On second thoughts........ Maybe the 1p parsnips were better quality!

I have driven a great distance across this fair land of ours, and listening to the radio, am I the only NP who's baffled by the number of adverts for mattress sales and sofa sales after we've all blown our money at Xmas?
What's that all about (or am I imagining it)? There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Well, I can state categorically that's not the only random stuff on sale. I was looking for a new password tonight for a website I joined, and it is now the name and price of the toilet that was on sale on TV at the time. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
