I just thought it was quite funny that I didn't even go to the event they are supposedly thanking me for going to :D We shan't go to the Spring one either.

I've never been, never known anybody to go - but I know I won't go. It's too far from me, adding up to a very very expensive day out to just buy overpriced stuff from people :)

Everybody in there's trying to flog something, or promote something, so why are "the crowd" being asked to pay to enter (£13/adult, weekday). With the money saved by not going one could actually BUY something useful instead :)

    I've been twice:
Once was in the 70s when I lived not very far away from it. Got a reduced ticket for the last day. It was reduced because there wasn't as much to see as on other days.

The second time was in the late 90s when I was about to refurbish my house, not in London, completely, so was looking for ideas.
    It was dreadful.
As you say, very overpriced stuff.
Worst of all, the food they had on sale was disgusting. Worse than the worst McDonald's-type of thing.
It was one of the rare times that I begrudged the cost of the ticket and the tube fare, because it was all so ghastly.

I remembered they sent me a feedback form, so I let rip! :rotfl:

I thought the Ideal Homes Exhibition was a display of quotes from Dr Watson.

It'll be the Queen soon; my conspiracy theory is she's on her last legs and they're secretly hiding her with a full-time team just keeping her going until they've got all their ducks lined up - and it's into next year as they don't want her dying at Xmas or in her 90th year.

Why weren't the great-grandkids at Sandringham?

To be honest, I doubt the Queen's there.... but, what they'd not want, is kids being caught up in a death at Xmas time as that could be "messy"; best keep them out of the way. Couldn't have had them playing with their toys on the grass Xmas morning if 10,000 papparazzi were climbing over the wall as great-nan's died.

Indeed, December's been a busy month - although most obits for famous people are prepared well in advance of the event.
I should think everybody who's anybody can't wait for Sunday to come.

My nephews have grown up into delightful young men. They are equally comfortable and confident relating to me and to my kids. It's lovely to see them.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Na, she just couldn't be bothered going to church this year and had to come up with an excuse.
