You won't look a plonker. Either people won't notice or they won't care. For the one in a million with nothing to do other than look at other people and wonder about them, they will assume you made the dinner and now are out walking will everyone else clears up.

Also, if you carry a dog-lead and occasionally yell out "Here, Rover!", everyone will just assume you're walking the dog! :D

    Looks yummy Pastures!

I think ours has just gone in oven now... So couple of hours if lucky.

Red Letter Day! Made it down to porch to smoke a few real cigs. :) Back in bed now, knackered and sore back. But glad am gradually getting more mobile again, even if it's merely down and up the stairs!

Very glad I did as we saw our next door neighbours as they came back from hospital - Mrs Next Door's Dad was taken into hospital on Friday. They thought they'd let him out for Christmas Day but he's still on a drip. Very sad for Mrs ND as she says he's got a lot wrong, and it's prob only a matter of time. But hospital good and cheery and inmates got presents, so at least spirit of the day is alive there. Her sister and family will visit this afternoon.

In honour of the day I'm wearing my Dad's snake ring. OH can't wear it as it's too small for his fingers. It belonged to my Dad's Father (can't think of him as my Grandfather as never met him, he died when my Dad was about 10), I think he must have worn it every day as it's incredibly worn on the palm side if it. Or maybe it came from his Father. Hallmarks appear to be in place, if I can ever find my loup can check. My Dad only ever wore the ring on high days and holidays - always remember him wearing it on Christmas Day.

Have you got a camera with a zoom? You might be able to see it on that.

Too deep set I think to be able to take photos. Plus haven't worked out how to use the macro on my camera yet - only had it about 5 years! :rotfl:

    Quickly, stick it on record!

I will presently. Can't do it right now as OH is glued to TOTP :rotfl:

We ordered a chicken from the butcher. When I weighed it it was about 1lb heavier than I'd asked for, but not to worry. I decided to try doing it "Delia's way", with butter, and with bacon on the breast which I don't usually bother with, and which it will be time to take off shortly.
The spuds will have to go in a separate roasting tin as the chicken's bigger than i'd bargained for!

We did church where apparently I got it all wrong by looking bored/disinterested.

Cooking lunch was longer than planned, ended up with roast chicken, pigs in blankets, bread sauce, gravy, apple sauce, red current jelly, roast spuds and honey glazed roast parsnips and carrots, peas and sprouts - and shloer and crackers - tbh pastures we should have invited you for dinner.

    Then walked arround the block.

DS lego train set missing some bits

DD2 k15 robot looks like it needs a lot of building, luckily DD1 trampoline came a month ago and was put up then so at least that doesn't need to be built today.

I got plastic comb (had lost my old one) and some razor blades.
    I think....

Beautiful ring, Maggie! I like snake rings.
    Are they diamonds and rubies?

Ivy, do you have a TV recorder Freeview box? If so, you just bring up the guide on the remote, and click record on the prog on the guide that you want to record, and it's done. No need to disturb an existing prog being watched.

Ring looks lovely and matches your engagement ring perfectly.

I've never heard of a snake ring before, thought you meant something like this:

    Youngsters!

Trying and failing to explain why people give vouchers rather than cash, because it shows that some thought went into present buying, DS1 thinks its stupid and cash (well bank transfer in today's age) makes more sense.

Yes. But they're smaller than they look due to the setting which I think is called Gypsy setting.

I'm totally stuffed now - only ate about half the stuff on my plate. Totally delish, but only have limited capacity! :( Fortunately OH had enough space left to eat up my leftovers. It really was yummy, made me really sad to have to give up on finishing my plate full!
