My birthdate was closer to the 1905 Revolution in St Petersburg than it is to today :(
100,000 people were born the same day as me. 11,000 have already died.

    August 13th, 1961:

Construction of the Berlin Wall begins
Nearer to your birth date than today!
Out of 100,000 people born on the same day as you, approximately 97,681 are still living.

Might have to check back next year to see how many drop off. If I'm not one of them, that is!
Over 50% of visitors to this site are younger than you!

    Sorry guys :p

Also, I'm apparently the same age as Perrie Edwards and Noah Shannon Green put together. Is the point that I have no idea who those people are?!

Thank you to all the people who said they were glad I was feeling better. Getting to the midnight service has also done me good - emotionally I really don't deal well with isolation. We are having a very civilised and undemanding Christmas day - having been to the midnight service, we're not going to church in the morning, but will get up fairly late (DD very teenagerish about liking to sleep in, DS likes getting up early but enjoys being alone when he does so), eat breakfast and then potter about cooking lunch.

Merry Christmas Doozergirl. Nice to have you posting again. :hello:

I use the prep to take my mind off the fact that I used to enjoy Christmas, if I didn't, I would probably be in a corner crying. I go through the motions and keep busy so that the younger ones in the family still have good memories building up.

I tried having a Christmas tree a couple of years ago to see if that improved things...it didn't, it just made me more depressed for what we used to have (not in a financial way), now it just brings back memories which are painful.

    I echo those sentiments entirely.

    And me.

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Don't know what &H40 is meant to be, are & and H hex characters?

Well, his birthday is pretty certain to be only two digits whether it's in hex or ordinary numbers. So I suspect that the & and H are some kind of typo, or one of those oddities that appear when the forum website doesn't recognise a character - the sort of thing that appears when someone pastes in a foreign word with an accent etc. I'm guessing that he's saying he's 40 in hex - which would be 4x16=64. He looked younger than that when I met him, though.

Happy Belated Birthday GDB, anyway. If you are indeed 40 in hex, then make the most of it. You haven't been any integer to the sixth power since you were 1, and you're unlikely ever to be so again!

Tour birth was closer to lenin's death than today is to your birth. The world's population has almost exactly doubled since your birth.

And most damning, 83% of visitors to this site are younger than you...

The world's population has more than doubled since my birth, but still 83% of visitors to the site are younger than me.

I put in my dad's birthday, and it says the Battle of the Alamo was nearer his birth than today, the world's population has gone up by a factor of nearly 3.5 since he was born, 97% of visitors to the site are younger than him, and 84.2% of people born the same day as him are dead.

I very much doubt that 3% of the site's visitors are really over 90. I think people who aren't over 90 (like me) type in the birthday of someone really old that they know (like him) to see what it says, and that bumps up the statistics.

I'm the same age as Paris Hilton plus Princess Alexia of the Netherlands. I have heard of Paris Hilton, and I'm aware that the Netherlands have a royal family with various princesses etc, although I hadn't heard of Alexia in particular.

Finally, Merry Christmas to all NP who celebrate it, and Happy Hanukkah to all NP who celebrate that. I love your snowmen, silvercar, and am not going to try to compete!!

    Wide Awake Club clocking in.
Not even the slightest bit tired at all....

I guess I'll feel rough all day tomorrow; hope I can bother cooking lunch... it's been a year in the thoughts and four weeks in the list making, shopping and about 40 minutes yesterday in actively prepping.

Hope I don't give up and have 2 sausage rolls instead.

[Deleted post that basically said that having been ill had been getting me down, but I am not feeling quite as bad as I was. And that my dad has arrived for Christmas, which is good. Only it was in more detail.]

At least now I've got my voice back properly, I can start having conversations with people again. :)

Brilliant! Lovely that they coincide this year!

Don't give up, Pastures! You've been to a lot of trouble, so go for it!
    It's half-done anyway!
    Enjoy! :A

(Ps. A tip....... It helps to open a bottle of something while you're cooking/heating/opening packets.
If nothing else, you won't much care what it all tastes like, as you'll be giggling too much, and dancing around the kitchen! :D )

I hope you all have a wonderful day, whatever the challenges.

So glad to hear Lydia is feeling better! Perfect timing.

We've avoided the telly and gone out to see a Star Wars movie with family from teens to the 80s. All agreed it was brill!

GDB there's a website you can put your birthday in and it will probably tell you enlightening facts about your journey to today.;)

Thanks for that, although it's depressing that the world population has almost trebled since I was born. Over a quarter of the World's population is under the age of 14, so yet to have any children (more or less). So, there's a lot more growth already built in. Of course, animal populations grow and then collapse, and we don't get too excited about that, but these are people!

Happy Christmas and a great new year ahead, hopefully less interesting than 2016.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
