I have looked out for a table cloth, but it needed to be "the right sort" and "the right price".... as I've not actually got a table it seemed a bit superfluous.

I expect to be eating my dinner on a tray on the sofa.

    :)

I've got a bright pink £1 plastic tray .... would've preferred a Santa one, but I'd have had to have found one in Puntland to justify it.

Feeling very twitchy/deflated right now.... here I sit, all food bought and prepped. Got everything I need + a few treats .... and that's it; then it ends doesn't it. Sitting here now "waiting for tomorrow's dinner". All I can look forward to is a random good find on freeview.

I've scoffed a choc orange mince pie, a packet of crisps, some peanuts, some choccies ... opened a can of Pepsi and ..... now what? That's as good as it gets isn't it.

So I turned the heating on, just for a double treat :)

    Heat AND Eat!! :)

[Deleted post that basically said that having been ill had been getting me down, but I am not feeling quite as bad as I was. And that my dad has arrived for Christmas, which is good. Only it was in more detail.]

At least now I've got my voice back properly, I can start having conversations with people again. :)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

You might as well go to bed, to be honest... firstly, he doesn't come if you stay awake ... and, secondly, you've probably not been "a good boy" this year, so he's giving you a miss anyway.

Harsh ... but it's better you know now, rather than being disappointed in 3-4 hours' when you realise he didn't call!

    :)

    Happy Xmas michaels.

We are staying up to call various overseas friends and family in other time zones. Well that's the official excuse....

There's been a delicious selection of cheese and port and xmas cake to keep us entertained in the meantime though!
