Well, his birthday is pretty certain to be only two digits whether it's in hex or ordinary numbers. So I suspect that the & and H are some kind of typo, or one of those oddities that appear when the forum website doesn't recognise a character - the sort of thing that appears when someone pastes in a foreign word with an accent etc. I'm guessing that he's saying he's 40 in hex - which would be 4x16=64. He looked younger than that when I met him, though.
Happy Belated Birthday GDB, anyway. If you are indeed 40 in hex, then make the most of it. You haven't been any integer to the sixth power since you were 1, and you're unlikely ever to be so again!
:bdaycake:
The world's population has more than doubled since my birth, but still 83% of visitors to the site are younger than me.
I put in my dad's birthday, and it says the Battle of the Alamo was nearer his birth than today, the world's population has gone up by a factor of nearly 3.5 since he was born, 97% of visitors to the site are younger than him, and 84.2% of people born the same day as him are dead.
I very much doubt that 3% of the site's visitors are really over 90. I think people who aren't over 90 (like me) type in the birthday of someone really old that they know (like him) to see what it says, and that bumps up the statistics.
I'm the same age as Paris Hilton plus Princess Alexia of the Netherlands. I have heard of Paris Hilton, and I'm aware that the Netherlands have a royal family with various princesses etc, although I hadn't heard of Alexia in particular.
Finally, Merry Christmas to all NP who celebrate it, and Happy Hanukkah to all NP who celebrate that. I love your snowmen, silvercar, and am not going to try to compete!!
Hi Lydia. So pleased your dad is visiting and cheering you up a bit. It's not a great time of year, generally. The weather is not great, and the days are short. Plus, the whole commercialised Christmas experience that you're expected to enjoy, even if you're not feeling great. Still, there's a lot to look forward to. The weather will improve, and the days will get longer, for a start. That's a certainty.
&H means, in geek-speak, that the next digits are in hexadecimal. It's widespread notation in computer programming. Clearly, not as widely understood as I thought.
I'm hoping not to live to the age of 3 to the power of 6, which is 729, unless everyone else does, too. However, 64 is 8 squared, and I would quite like to live to 81, which is 9 squared. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I have converted a garage in a listed building where I came up with the idea to copy the old timber doors, keeping the windows in there. New wall is built up behind with a cill so it meets relatively modren regs with exception of the single glazing -which is compatible with the listing anyway. It does need another window for escape but that was on the side in this case. Looks completely perfect from the outside.
Thanks very much for that. It gives me a ballpark figure. I hadn't realised that we might not need footings for the new bit of wall, so that's a very clever thought, thanks. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Happy Christmas NP. All ready to go here, waiting for DD to arrive for a short visit and then a relaxing day for DH and me.Spend less now, work less later.0

Only 3 days this time, but before that it was 10 days.Couldn't get downstairs to use shower room, and couldn't climb into bath to use shower, even though we got a shower stool for bathroom. Such a relief when finally managed a shower - had reached the point of "ripeness" that I could smell myself.

That's very pretty Maggie :T sorry to hear you're still mostly stuck in bed xx
I don't think OH and I will be going anywhere - his hip is very painful, and I'm tired because he kept snoring and waking me up! My biggest decision of the day looks like being trying to decide when to start cooking! We usually have our main meal in the evening, so I was going to time it so that the only thing I missed was some bits of theStrictly Christmas Special, but now we might be going to DD2's at that sort of time. Oh well, may just have to miss some bits of Frozen instead.
michaels Thanks for the Beauty and the Beast trailer! Our DD2's husband is the cousin of one of the stars *feeble attempt to bask in reflected glory*0
