We collected the loaf and the chicken this morning, and bought an easy meal for tonight as I've got a church service to go to at 6 o'clock so we'll eat when I get back. We bought a cherry cake at the bakery too.
We have a pudding which we were thinking of taking to DD's on Boxing Day, but forgot to get any cream, so we'll just have the cheesecake instead. Tomorrow's dessert will be a mini-Magnum each
Happy Christmas everyone :santa2:0 -
Twitchy now.... all that list making, thinking, organising, shopping, bringing it home, updating the list, thinking ..... going out, list, check, think, out, list, check, think ....
Then the prep/cooking.
Just want to get on with it now. I think next year I'll not cook the turkey ahead, I'll do it on the day.... hate the waiting.
Irony is - tomorrow I won't fancy eating as my belly appears full simply by thinking about so much food!
Got a coffee... if I'm going out on a sausage roll hunt .... it'll have to be in the next 10 minutes or I'll simply not fancy it any more.
My local Aldi's so new they don't tell you the opening times online yet, which is annoying. No idea what time shops shut .... could pop into Poundland, see if they've got a plate. The shop down town had one, an oval one, but the new/bigger shop seems quite "empty" of goods a lot of the time.0 -

Pastures, why not give the sausage rolls a miss, put your feet up, turn on the TV, get a plate of nibbles, a drink of whatever, and just chill.
Christmas starts here!
If you still want sausage rolls on Monday, the shops will be open again.
Jingle jingle jingle jingle hear those sleigh bells ring!

Actually, for me to visit both L & A is easy as one's just round the corner and the other's up the road by less than half a mile.
Went to both.
L, came out with nothing.
A, came out with a pack of sausage rolls (not reduced, BBE 2 Jan) and a 99p trifle. When you clamber to the top shelf and take it down and look at it it's a LOT bigger than imagined! Nearly got the chocolate one instead but I reined myself in.
Then it was off to Puntland .... and I bought a plate for my dinner, a santa serving spoon and a snowman serving spoon, a random serving dish that sort of matches two small side plates I already own - and a large glass "trifle bowl" in case I ever need one (at £1 I might as well have a large glass bowl in the house) and some melamine sideplates with gingerbread men on.
I also bought some other housey bits and pieces.... and some dry roasted peanuts.
Home now. That's the lot. Already nuked my teryaki tea... and done MORE washing up - all those new dishes, plates, spoons needed washing.

Serving spoons?
POSH ALERT !!!!!
They are cheery; half price sale too, so 50p each. That's why I got any at all, and I got both. If they'd been in another shop at, say, £3 each, I'd have never got them. Not required .... but at 50p you have to give it a go

Watch out! She'll be getting a tablecloth next!
(Thus spake the slob who's tucked up in bed with a single malt, a persimmon and a prawn and avocado mousse! And the third 'Christmas Carol' in two days on the Teev!)(I just lurve spiders!)

Is that what's called a justification - or an excuse?:p:p
