Sounds fab hjd, not a cruise person myself, but sometimes they are a good option - would like to see the fjords and there really is only one way to do it.

I get RAC thrown in with an expensive bank account. I called them out last night, and they got me going - in the middle of a field! Nightmare situation solved.

    No RAC for trucks, Buglet?

I have RAC for the vans, but it's more pay as you go, rather than a flat fee. For the trucks, there is the manufacturers' programmes - DAFAid, Scania Lifeline etc, but they don't do tyres, you need a seperate account. Just one of those things.

I thought we had relocated. But we seem to be spread between the old and the new.

How was the hols hjd? Was this the big post retirement trip?

I'm on three forums, I'd not end up with another one - nothing personal I assure you all, just I've seen breakaway forums/groups and if I joined them all, I'd get dizzy! Hope gen's OK.

DD1 keeps trying to use instagram even though she is not old enough. appblocker on her phone and updated hosts file on the pc should have sorted that out this evening muwhahaha

love Instagram, one of the dogs has a page:o. Not a frequent poster, but like to follow some milliners, a couple of truck people, schnauzer and spitz accounts and several bellydancers.

    This is Ruby's page

How did Duck get on, Maggie? :)

She came last! :rotfl: They still need to "tune" the sails, but I suspect she's still taking water on which will slow her down. Once she's been in for a week her seams will have taken up and she'll much tighter. Around the time we'll have to be getting her back out! :o

Sue that must have been very scary! Glad you're all okay, and best wishes to youngest re interview.

hjd Welcome back! Sounds like a lovely trip. I'd recommend New Zealand next, if you can.

Doozergirl Sorry you have to come home today! I don't know where you went but it looked gorgeous :) Safe journey home.

Maggie That's a shame ! I hope your DH was philosophical about it. I bet he enjoyed the day anyway :)

Off to local hardware shop this morning to buy finials for the new gateposts by the back of the house. Not strictly necessary, but I think it will make the new gate and fence panel look properly finished.

    Automatic gearbox perchance?

    It certainly is!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Very scary, it felt like the car was possessed! Even when I was pressing the brake pedal, it was wanting to surge (and my feet are too small to press on both pedals at the same time), it was literally foot to the floor on the brake with all my might and fight against the thing to get it to stop.

The car is still drivable but at the moment, I am rather reluctant to get in it and drive so we are going to take a walk to the next village to get supplies (well Josh will walk, I will sit in the wheelchair), probably a round trip of about 4 miles.

It's going in for repairs on Thursday, only minor damage (that I can see) and they will look at the issue of surging at the same time.

James now wants a lift to work (supposed to be a day off for him), really really not sure what to do now. Do I get in the car and get over the shock of what happened and hope it doesn't happen again, or do I just stay out of the thing. It could have just been a glitch and never happen again or it could happen again straight away....oh I don't know.

Talking to my mum (she also has an automatic), she has experienced something similar but it has been when she has been driving along the road. I suppose I could always drive it but when it comes to parking, make sure there is a huge space in front just in case!

Sue, seem to remember your car is a Motability one? Do get in touch with them - they are incredibly helpful, and very nice on the phone too. We've had a number of issues with my car, and usually they've provided a replacement of similar specifications for us to use while in the garage. I need a tallish car as can't get down into a "normal" one, plus heated front seats or I can't use in winter, mind you I had the seat heating on driving to Abersoch this summer! :rotfl: So we've had a Zafira (hated it), Hyundai (liked it so much when OH needed new to him car we bought one) and another that I can't remember now.

Hugs for the shock - must have been horrible scarey.

Edit: see you have arranged repairs already. Good luck, hope they can sort out the problem.

Thankfully the courtesy car is a tall one as although I can fall into lower down cars, I can't get out of the bleddy things without a winch, a hope and a prayer!

Loved the car so far but this has seriously rocked my confidence in it.
