You could actually be a brilliant VA without even leaving your house.

I am thinking of starting as a VA, locally ... planning to say that's what I do from now on...

But, I do need a better/new PC and a printer ... PC's inadequate, completely inadequate, not just me being picky :)

Earlier today I nearly got as far as checking what pricing might be possible and thinking about what I was actually offering.

Awesome! The ones I know of charge between £17.50 and £23 an hour and they'll do almost anything that can be done remotely, based on their own business skills. The best way for your income is to sell monthly commitment packages which sell hours at a bit of a discount in return for a regular income.

I follow a few on Facebook. The boy could really do with one sometimes, but we've not really got around to it.

It's certainly worth you investing in some better equipment.

If you wrote everything as a novel PN, people would think it was far-fetched!

Don't know if anyone remembers the saga of the Italian tyre from a few weeks back - in brief, blowout on a Friday near Genoa, ATS couldn't get one till Monday, after 5 hours a helpful haulier found us another tyre company and they came and sorted within two hours. Bill arrived £1068.00. Along with the delay costs and sednig another driver out because they were going to be out of hours, cost well over £2.5k.

Old adage, how do you get to be a millionaire in haulage? Start with £2 million....;)

I get RAC thrown in with an expensive bank account. I called them out last night, and they got me going - in the middle of a field! Nightmare situation solved.

    No RAC for trucks, Buglet?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

DQWD, as DW will think it's disloyal (and she's right!):

DW complained that the browser wasn't working.

"Look, I type H and this silly window opens instead of the H going in the search box. It's done this before."

So, I moved her diary which was pressing on the ctrl key.

    Quickest fix ever! :j

I've just had a weird crash in my car, we are all OK so don't worry but the car will need bumper and paint work repair...it just surged forward without any feet on pedals at all, very scary but thankfully my reflexes are bloody quick otherwise it could have been a lot worse.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Yes, this was the big trip (although will be a few years to retirement!)
Rocky Mountaineer train from Banff to Vancouver, 4 days in Vancouver, cruise from Vancouver to Whittier/Anchorage then home.
Weather was very kind to us, only rain at the very end. Got to do everything on our list. All the logistics worked perfectly - which surprised some as I did all the research and booking...
Would thoroughly recommend the trip (or any part of it!).
Not really cruise people but it was a means to an end.
