It doesn't any more. There is now an assumed earning rate of national minimum wage and you have to work 30(?) hours a week to get it. So the system assumes you are getting ~£240 a week in and assess your credits to top that up. Rather than people saying they are self employed but earning zilch.
Government line is that if you can't earn NMW with your self employment you need to go get a job.vivatifosi wrote: »Min ages: 14 for Summer Reading Challenge volunteers, 16 for other volunteering and Saturday jobs, year 10 for work experience. It may be too late to vol for this year's SRC, worth checking with local branch on case by case basis.
Can't sleep again. Bah!
I also woke a couple of times feeling too hot, weird as it is cooler than of late.I think....0 -
Well, I'm trying to work out if that went well, badly or somewhere inbetween.
Not an outright no, but not an outright yes either.💙💛 💔0 -
I haven't posted here much recently, but due to recent events
, and the Forum heading steadily downhill, I'm taking a break from it for the rest of the Summer.

Glad it turned out to just be an expensive nuisance.....no plans to replace ..
Never say never .... it's becoming an expensive hobby!... slid in, unable to do anything...0 -

I blame gentrification .... only happy clappy, smiling, middle class faces allowed. No negative talk....
A sprinkling of middle class standard wording helps to be skimmed over too .... describe everything as if it's a cupcake ... for sale on a cutesy Etsy page and it's approved
A car crash is: a delightful shunty poo, so glad my eco-footprint was saved!!0 -
I was doing a bit of a drive, so popped down to check my tyres were OK. He said two have 500 miles left on them. I've now done 410 miles, so need to "use up" that final 90 miles before I fit new ones ... I'd hate to think I wasted that distance!0

I pulled up at traffic lights. Checked my mirror, and the chap behind me was also pulling up. But the chap behind him ....No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

How accurate do you think his estimate was? It's like the museum keeper's fallacy.
You ask the museum keeper how old the dinosaur bones are, and he replies "70 million and 12 years."
He then explains: "When I started working here, I was told the bones were 70 million years old, and I've been here 12 years now."No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I would suspect that you probebly brake, accelerate and corner less harshly than the aveage driver so your tyres are likely to last onlger than his estimate.
However as Lydia would tell you if she was around, just because your tyres are legal doesn't mean they are as safe as they could be so pehaps change them anyway if they are less tan 3mm rather than waiting for the 1.6 of the law.I think....0
