It's the World Athletic Championships there next year. Tickets go on sale 1st August.

Unless you already got them in the presale:D.

We're having both the Anniversary Games and the World Champs next year, so lots going on at the stadium. Anniversary Games are - as Doozer said - every year, roughly at the same time as the London Olympics were (hence the name). They've been at the stadium for a few years and were held in a temporary space in Horseguards Parade for a while as the stadium was out of order. We go every year.

The cheapest tickets are about £16 + booking fee and the atmosphere is great. Well worth it if anyone is slightly interested in athletics. The great thing is the programme is so tightly packed that if one event isn't up your street there'll be something different after another five minutes.

Luckily I can usually obtain spare tickets from friends. A couple I know have been to every Olympic games since Atlanta, so the last 20 years. They also go to most major Athletic meetings around the world. I think they told me their Rio package was costing £26,000.........each!

Sent an email to a part of the Romanian government this morning, and the email server has accused me of advanced fee fraud (it included a fair amount of financial information, which is probably why)

Just sent a more generic email to the same place, in the hope that I can speak to them and somehow avoid the spam filter this time.

When we retire we've talked about following the Diamond League one year, Tour de France the next and the Grand Prix another. I doubt that all of that together would add up to £26k at today's prices though!

We did really well for tickets for London 2012. DH managed to get tickets, purely by sitting on the website and applying constantly, for both the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics and Paralympics (all 4). My wish was to take my family to the Olympics as a treat, so I took my Dad to Wembley to see the football and my brother to see the archery. With DH I went to loads of other stuff, including athletics and beach volleyball. Brilliant fun.

Gen PPR'd again? What on earth is going on?
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Does anyone know if Herts libraries can use temporary volunteers at their local branches and if so what the minimum age might be?

Min ages: 14 for Summer Reading Challenge volunteers, 16 for other volunteering and Saturday jobs, year 10 for work experience. It may be too late to vol for this year's SRC, worth checking with local branch on case by case basis.

    Can't sleep again. Bah!

I've got a meeting with the bank this morning, and I'm currently trying to re-read a mountain of paperwork to make sure all my figures are in order for it.

Thanks CK. I got about five hours in total, in the end. Not ideal, but could have been worse.

    Good luck with bank meeting.
