Thank goodness.... You can replace a car.

Mr Spirit does all the ironing here, has done for the last 30+years. Starches shirts without fail. If I am forced to iron, it is special ironing, folded and put on top of the aga to knock the creases out.

We spent the weekend in Cornwall at a nephews wedding. Beautiful day and a fun weekend. One of the guests was a young relative who was recently diagnosed as on the spectrum. He found it very difficult to be a wedding guest. His dad is totally frazzled, loves the little chap to bits, never gets a minutes peace though. I will tell him about Sue's boys as it will provide hope. Thanks.

Oh goodness I remember those days, I think I spent more time outside of whatever was going on than being a part of it! Youngest does not make a very good guest even now but at least we are past the meltdown stage and because he is 18, he can choose if he wants to go or not and he is safe to be left at home.

He couldn't get out of going to ex mother in law's 70th party recently, he took being unsociable to another level :rotfl:

I just roll with it now rather than get het up about it, much better for the blood pressure, less grey hairs and it can also improve the situation as you can then parent without being a big ball of stresshead, embarrassment and frustration. If others have a problem with it, then let them, you just get on and do what you need to do.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Yeah, it sounded pretty nasty. She was doing 100km/h before the crash although had lost a lot of speed by the time she hit.

    Ouch!

Glad she's not badly injured, and coming from experience, hope she's feeling better later on.

Had a lovely weekend. We went to both days of the Anniversary Games at the Olympic Stadium. Bolt, Farah, Schippers et al were in great form going to the Olympics. Hannah Cockcroft was in top form for the Paralympics. Jess Ennis-Hill and Kat JT look to be in great form going for the pentathlon.

There's such a lovely vibe watching athletics there and there was even a new world record and a couple of national records on the new, faster track. Am now looking forward to the Olympics.

Is this a regular event, holding anniversary games?

Glad the important stuff is ok to the DQWD person - never quite know how much not to quote.

It must have been pretty frightening as she slid in, unable to do anything. So pleased she could walk away. Really, that's all that matters.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
