On facebook you can "unfollow" people. Click the little down arrow next to a post they make and pick the option to unfollow.
You remain as Facebook "friends" and they are none the wiser that their rantings do not appear on your timeline.
I end up doing this for the people who obviously spend all day browsing the internet and then posting everything 'interesting' they find on facebook so that when I log into facebook (every few days) it isn't just 10 pages of their 'interesting' things that shows up.I think....0 -
Doozer, out of interest, have you had stern words with him?
Yes. I'm a really positive person but I have to accept he is a lost cause. Anything I say is met with 'well, your life is great' (with colourful embellishment). Which is true at the moment, but it has been far from it and I've only recently learned to genuinely love myself. He knows my early pain more than most.
It's not about me, anyway. He's getting significance from it all as that's the only way he must know how to. He was clearly annoyed at me telling him it's been the same for 20 years and he has to let go as he will never be happy. I didn't mince my words. In trying to 'help', I'm actually just feeding it his need for attention.
He even complained about his ex now and how successful she is... with the money that they both got when he sold up. He must be internet stalking her!
When he commented last night, another friend piped in and said 'you're drinking the poison and hoping the other person gets sick'. Which is very, very true.
Thanks for listening. It's taken up too much negative energy and I have to cut loose. He was a good friend a long time ago but we're poles apart and I've tried to help but know I can't. People have to feel ready to pick themselves up and start looking for the answers.
Have to press the button. If I unfollow, I don't think that stops him from peeing on my positive posts, which is the main problem.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

We had such a lovely afternoon yesterday. Full of gloom over the result, we headed off into London and met up with an old friend. PRIDE was happening, everyone seemed happy, and while the weather was dreadful, every now and again it would break and there would be rainbows over the event. Very apt.
After we went to sit in the presence of a music legend. Burt Bacharach at the Palladium. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! The man may have lost his voice to age, but it can't rob him of his musicality. He was playing the piano one handed without hitting a single bum note, while conducting the orchestra.
Apparently he doesn't normally have guests (though he has three very competent singers who tour with him... same three as on the stage at Glasto last year I think). But this year he had four guest artists... Norman Jean, hadn't heard of her, she was good. Marc Almond... looked nervous, sang ok but not brilliant. Rumer who was stunning and is going to release a Bacharach album. She sang Close to You and is the closest I'll ever get to hearing Karen Carpenter sing that live... beautiful. Then at the end Rick Astley. Who knew he could sing like that.
The only downside was that were some Americans talking behind about how Britain has shot itself in the foot and how could we possibly think as an economy that we are that important and that this would help us. Frustrated that we are being spoken of already as though we aren't there and all voted the same, even though that clearly isn't the case! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Never heard of her .... on any/most of the others.
In fact, I don't even know who/what these "new guys" are, aka Farage, Corbyn, etc, or where they've come from, or why, or anything. Not even, really, sure what Boris was up to, for who, or why.

None of it is helpful though, all you get is disinformation overload.
Tried that .... all you get is more guff and more confused.
Even now nobody's answering questions with answers, even now it's over. Still no clarity .... I think I saw some bloke on the telly being a "word weasel", but if the interviewer doesn't pick up on it you can't poke the screen and ask him to define his weasel words ....
They deliberately confuse people by using similar words/terminology in answers, knowing that nobody will pick them up on what that actually means.0 -

I can understand how you would struggle in a situation where politicians are shouting each other down.
I listen to Generali. He gives excellent advice about when to drink wine, so why wouldn't everything else be right?
Martin's blog on which way to vote was really good. I know he went with remain, but I think he was as fair as he could be. And it was easy to understand.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Throughout the process the things that annoy me are where people were deliberately misled and set up to be conned. All parties do it. All of them.
Read nothing into this example I have picked, it is purely for illustration purposes only and this item is not posted here for discussion:
That Scottish bird said as her campaign that she'd head up for a separation of Scotland from England, then into Europe if she had to ....
Now it turns out that was never an option for her. "It doesn't work like that". To join the EU you have to be a Sovereign nation... which, Scotland isn't (it seems).
So, she must've KNOWN that her lie was based on something that could never happen. So why did she say it?
You listen, you take in what people are saying, you choose.
THEN ... you find out they either backtrack, or you were sold one big fat lie.
Then people try telling you to watch more/read more/see more/listen more.
All you'll do is end up hearing more lies, seeing more smoke screens ...
You have to cut your time/mental state losses at some point.0 -

To be honest, I never understand a thing Generali posts ... it goes right over my head. Understanding anything depends on your previous knowledge/understanding. I have none, it's all confusing. His starts with "some knowledge being present".
Martin's blog ... never read it, for anything, ever. To be honest.
Ask me right now: Who are the 3 leaders of the 3 main parties? Couldn't tell you. Cameron was one; I've found out (because of the EU thing) that Corbyn was/is? the other one. As for the 3rd ... are they still the Lib/Dems? no idea.0 -

That's not just you Pastures. You've nailed the first two and I would bet that less than 50% of the population, possibly significantly less, could name the leader of the Lib Dems. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
