I don't have to negotiate with anyone about the temperature in my house! I have the thermostat set to 22.5, and my kids turn off the radiators in their rooms.

At work, however, I am usually just getting to a comfortable temperature when the men start opening windows.

I seem to remember there's been a study done about this not long ago, where it was found that men prefer a lower ambient temperature than women do.

Silvercar I'd love one of those, but I'd want the sea view to go with it as well :D

Well, that's true, but I'm at the stage where I should theoretically prefer it a bit cooler, but I don't :)

    Bl00dy £1l4nd
    :)

I often have random thoughts of things I should buy ... at the point when I spot something's amiss. e.g. when I struggle to unlock the gate I think "WD40" ... but, of course, a week later if I'm near such a shop that might sell it I'd not remember as I ONLY remember the item when presented with the problem.

So I got a little 6"x4" index card and a pencil - and now I write them down. Quite a few of these things have solutions in £land ... so off I went, little list in hand.

However .... the curse of £land got me - and I've returned home with a few things ticked off the list - and some unexpected purchases!!

    Oh well, it's only £1.

I got the bucket/wringer I wanted - and a mop on a long stick to go with it. I bought (to try/see if that worked) a little tripod for my phone. I bought those plastic C4 envelopes in stationery. I also wanted more bleach, so bought two twin-packs... and then I spotted the shampoo I use, which had run out this morning - but I already knew I had a spare, but, hang on ... did I REALLY get a spare, or had I previously accidentally grabbed the conditioner instead of shampoo... better get one "in case" (turned out I had the shampoo, so now I've enough shampoo stocks until 2018).

Then it was off to the "goodies" - and I got some PMax and a bag of chocolates :)

So what other "randomly purchased 'cr4p'" did I emerge with?

A little extendible microfibre duster.... a rubber mallet .... pedal bin liners (that have turned out to be smaller than I expected) ....

Oh well .... it's only £1 isn't it ..... trouble is, I do like going in there now I've got one up the road... there's always SOMETHING "handy" to buy :)

In case you're wondering "a mallet???? !!!!!!!!" - yes, all my life I've kind of half yearned for a beach "wind break" and I picked up a small, brand new, one at the car boot sale at the weekend for £3.... so it needs a mallet. Of course, I also need a shopping trolley now to cart around my growing collection of "things you might like to have handy if you go to a beach"....

I was just wondering what you needed a rubber mallet for, and then you answered my question!

I had been thinking doofer-battering with no physical evidence! :rotfl:

In the winter my thermostat is set to 19.5 degrees, right now it is set at 15 degrees so that the heating doesn't come on.

When James comes home, I sometimes find the thermostat to be set at 22 degrees or more......

I do feel the cold but I fear the gas bill more so we have quilts on the sofa and extra blankets on our beds if needed.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Too much shopping at Poundland/Lidl/Aldi - you need to listen to the song! :)

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

There is a house for sale on a road I would like to move to - only problem is with stamp duty I am about 600k short - oh and it needs a complete refurb. Could all the NPs look down the back of their sofas please and see if we can bridge the gap? Thanks in advance.
    I think....
