Yeah. Since they're not a charity, it makes you wonder what the ulterior motive must be...
Once they have 'got rid' of the win 7 and 8 installations by the stealth upgrade process I'd guess at something along the lines of one and/or more of:
1 Charges for future upgrades or security patches.
2. Sunset clauses so old versions or parts of the OS stop working.
3. An eventual move to full annual subscription for continual use0 -
I like the quirk in the latest version of 10. You don't always see all your network resources. I can no longer see my NAS or some of the other computers.
Way to go MS, break your latest OS so early in its life! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I am aware of at least 3 Windows 10 upgrades programs where companies have shelved plans because regardless of what MS says Windows 10 has still got a long way to go to be a viable business OS. You would think it would have been simple after Windows 8/8.1 but they've ballsed it up big time.
One large company has invoked their regression plan and gone back to Windows 7.
It's good for me if they do regress because it gives me more work
I was a fan of Windows 10 when it first came out. The tech previews were good but the production version is going down the panThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
No, but I bet Microsoft could release a plank of wood and you'd think it was the best thing since Windows 10. It's a bit sad if you don't know how to think for yourself, really.
See, that's the kind of personal attack that RumRat is talking about.
I like Windows 10 means that I'm a fanboy sheep according to you.
Wrong. Would a Microsoft fanboy have 2 MacBook Pros and a Mac Mini in his household? I can think for myself, thanks.
That's why I don't jump on bandwagons like you do, proclaiming things to be rubbish before giving them a good go, and trying to learn them (there's ME making an assumption).
Plenty of the criticism of Windows 8 was justified. With 8.1, lots of the problems went away, with W10, most of them did. Windows 10 starts far faster on my computer than 7 ever did (yes, same hardware).0 -

Ha ha ha! Well, don't pretend you know what I thought about Windows 7 when it came out, and I won't pretend to know that you're a fanboy sheep who sacrifices penguins upon the alter of Microsoft. That's why I don't jump on bandwagons like you do, proclaiming things to be rubbish before giving them a good go, and trying to learn them (there's ME making an assumption).
And here we go again!
From my point of view, it's quite clear that you need to spend more time learning about how Windows 10 works and exploring the UI as you've failed to recognise its problems and are just jumping on the bandwagon of Microsoft fanboyism without really knowing what you're talking about.
You can hurl personal attacks if you like, and I can throw them back, but that doesn't make any difference to Windows 10. It's still rubbish.
P.S. I was trying to find out how to enable NFS support in Windows 10. Apparently you need the Enterprise edition of W10 for this basic feature. Why the hell do Microsoft cripple their OSes by ripping out basic components at random?! Windows 7 Home Premium had NFS support, so if I upgrade to W10, I'll break my network setup. Thanks Microsoft. That's really clever. It was irritating enough to have to hack Windows 7 Home Premium to allow remote desktop connections. And shocking that you can't even join a domain, and have to upgrade to Enterprise or Ultimate to switch between all available languages! (But you obviously haven't learnt enough about Windows to have figured these things out.)0 -

You're pedalling your opinion as fact. I've stated why I'm not a fanboy, and you simply won't accept that I can actually like Windows 10 (and 8 for that matter) and NOT be a fanboy. Are other people allowed different opinions?(But you obviously haven't learnt enough about Windows to have figured these things out.)
I know nothing about your network setup, and I'm not an IT pro. It works on 3 computers in my home just great. You seem to want me to go hunting for the faults - I don't have a domain to join, but I'm very happy with the UI. No doubt I'm wrong for liking it.0 -

Ha ha! That's funny! You bet that you knew what I was thinking! If that's not you trying to pretend that your opinions are fact then I don't know what is!I know nothing about your network setup, and I'm not an IT pro.
Well, then stop being such a hypocrite. You can't accuse me of blind fanboyism (as you did by betting that I hated Windows 7), whilst having no idea about the subject you're talking about! :rotfl:
Why do you imply that anyone who thinks differently from you about Windows 10 is somehow wrong?! Especially when you admit that you don't really know what you're talking about!!!
Why keep making pointless posts arguing the toss over something you know nothing about, and then, having succumbed to blind fanboyism yourself, with outstanding hypocrisy, accuse anyone who thinks differently to you as pedalling (tee hee) opinions. My opinions are neither cyclic nor for sale. Perhaps you need a dictionary.
So why do you object to the idea that I don't particularly like Windows 10?! Why can't you respect my opinion? Why does it matter to you that everyone thinks the same as you, when you don't even know what you're talking about?! Absolutely ridiculous. Get a grip.0
