Psychics

Let me put it another way, where do you think she got the information from? Even speaking to the dead, that would not tell her your future would it? Please explain how you understand it.
It is obvious that the person she was speaking to was Doc Emmet Brown. He travelled into the future, came back, then died, then was able to speak to the psychic and tell the psychic all about his travel back to the future.0 -
As for James Rand I highly doubt she had heard of him, she was in her 60's 30 years ago, was he already an arrogant idiot in the 80's?
Why do you refer to James Randi in this way? He is an 87 year old gentleman who worked as a magician from the 40s to the 70s, so he understands how trickery works. He could see how some people making bold claims were using tricks and exposed them time and time again. This is a great one with Uri Geller: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9w7jHYriFo0 -

The point being, that by giving the message, with validation that is excepted it demonstrates that there is an afterlife, there is only a physical death - maybe that's what the naysayers are so afraid of - just a thought.
How does it demonstrate an afterlife? Either knowing things about you or predicting the future? How does that proof afterlife? I'm sure everyone would love to be reborn, but no one knows about that and there is no proof of it so people should not claim to have the answers (and make money out of it).0 -
For example until about a week ago it was believed that a type of crane fly had been extinct for the last 50 years. A group scientists go to a remote island and would you believe it one lands on his hand so all this time they were alive and well when everyone was convinced that they were all dead and gone.
The Universe has so many undiscovered marvels how can you be so sure psychic abilities don't exist?
The fly was known to exist before and had just not been seen in years so assumed extinct, but that's totally different from a small group of people claiming to see into the future which is impossible.
You are absolutely right that the universe has many undiscovered marvels. We should wonder at these, explore and try to learn more. Focus our efforts there, not on people claiming to have psychic powers (for money) as they have done since the time before most planets were even discovered.0 -
I am sorry that this is descending into tit-for-tat arguing. I daresay this thread will be deleted soon. People are welcome to draw their own conclusions and there is no point in having a go or belittling people who do believe.
I wish Faith177 and Poppie68 every happiness for the future - whatever it might bring.0 -

I am sure they already know what it will bring0 -
Human nature being what it is I am sure there are false mediums and clairvoyants out there. However, my father saw things and people others couldn't. He often found it embarrassing, but in the course of his work he would feel obliged to pass on messages from "dead" people. It isn't something that can be turned off and on, or it wasn't for him, and he never made money from it.
He got messages from people with unusual names, not just Johns and Marys, which were recognised and gave some comfort to folk.0 -
I always find it funny when my local has a "Psychic Night."
The poor chap sits there for an hour or so with no customers, and then promptly leaves.
You'd figure being psychic he'd know the night was going to be a wash. Or at least based on past performance it would be.
Apparently not.0 -
