Psychics

Bit like your own delusions in denying something doesn't exist that you have a) no personal experience of and b) no proof either way that it does or doesn't
For example until about a week ago it was believed that a type of crane fly had been extinct for the last 50 years. A group scientists go to a remote island and would you believe it one lands on his hand so all this time they were alive and well when everyone was convinced that they were all dead and gone.
The Universe has so many undiscovered marvels how can you be so sure psychic abilities don't exist?
Just remember years ago everyone was convinced the World was flat and look how that turned out
I have gone over the proof that something doesnt exist...impossible.
I dont need personal experience of something to know that it is does exist.
Also, I have said that if there was any undeniable, scientific proof that they exist then i will change my tune (i said that a while back), however there is none, even given the opportunities for one of these 'psychics' to take part in such an experiement. So yes, the world was thought to be flat, but was proved beyond doubt that it is not; psychic ability, although given plenty of opportunities, has never taken up such an opportunity to prove themselves.
Basilewsky's cranefly had been proven to exist, so how is that an argument for psychic 'ability'.0 -
I have proof that unicorns exist. Who believes me?0

I used it as an example to show that scientist are proven wrong all the time. For 50 years this insect was not believed to exist any more then bam one day proof that actually it does exist
It just goes to show nothing is conclusive and we should always keep our minds openFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
None of us knows what happens after death - as there is no way back from it to tell tales.
Yes, i know the stories of the 'white light' etc but they *may* or *may not* be caused by chemical changes in the brain as it shuts down.
Let's just accept that we have different opinions and neither side is open to change as they both feel justified in their views.
As an aside, Faith - if the psychic told you everything about your OH, why did you not use that knowledge to stop him from making all the mistakes you come here regularly to complain about? It's been going on for years - surely she would have warned you if things were going to get as bad as you say they have?:hello:0 -

My current OH wasn't mentioned as I didn't even know him at the time that's whyand anyway why drag up my post history on a completely unrelated topic??

No there is no way for the dead to tell tales...none whatsoever.0 -
But it was beneficial to me is that not enough? It's my money I can spend it how I wish if it brings joy to me who are you to get a bee in your bonnet over it
I bet there is stuff you spend your money on that I wouldn't think was very beneficial if you told me about it but I wouldn't throw it in your face and say so mainly because each to their own
This is the moneysavingexpert forum so I thought it was appropriate to comment on the value for money that the experience provides ( in my opinion). There is no need to take it so personally!0 -
Like what?? Facebook didn't exist at the time. I even booked under a fake generic name Jane Smith
I am open to suggestions that same are naff and are just fraudster but I just don't think it's fair to tar everyone with the same brush and say all are fakers. Just seems a bit closed minded
It sounds like she was quite convincing. I am not closed minded, but in the absence of any proper evidence despite psychics selling their services for around 200 years, I am simply saying it is impossible.
Let me put it another way, where do you think she got the information from? Even speaking to the dead, that would not tell her your future would it? Please explain how you understand it.0
