Psychics

It's been proven again and again by genuine people, just because science has fallen short doesn't mean it's not real.
Can you explain what you mean by "science has fallen short" please?
All a psychic would need to do to prove their 'abilities' would be to do readings in proper scientific conditions. Read say 100 random people (independently chosen) with it being filmed and clear predictions recorded, then later the 100 people reporting how many specific predictions came true and how many did not for independent analysis. A paper could then be produced and peer reviewed. The psychic could claim the $1M Randi prize. Why has not one of them ever done it?0 -
Now had the hell did she get all that if psychics don't exist? How could she "cold read" details like that?
Unless you have had a positive experience yourself you will always doubt
She clearly convinced you at the time, but are you open to the possibility that other non-supernatural techniques could have been used?
It should not boil down to personal experience, it should be provable. I have not had experience myself with heart surgeons, but I don't doubt their ability.0 -

Like what?? Facebook didn't exist at the time. I even booked under a fake generic name Jane Smith
I am open to suggestions that same are naff and are just fraudster but I just don't think it's fair to tar everyone with the same brush and say all are fakers. Some people are never going to be convinced of the utter sh*** that purports to be 'psychic' ability. If they get some, albeit ill-conceived, comfort from this entertainment, then so be it.
Show me how it works, and that it works, under objective assessments then i will change my tune (because that is how scientific facts are produced you know).
Until that day (and that day will never come), it is all, at best, entertainment and no more.0 -

Haha; yes. I loved the ones where they mentioned "historical people" Kreed Kafer (anagram of Derek Faker) and Rik Eedles (Derek Lies) in front of Acorah prior to recording and, lo and behold, he claimed to "contact" them both on camera...

Same with my experience she was able to tell me all about my dad's accident in great details including stuff that I didn't know but on speaking to my mum (who wasn't there) confirm were correct. My dad was hit by a train trying to rescue our dog (who had been hit first) after she ran off in 1990.
She knew that my dad had been ill prior to the accident but was recovering well and was pleased he was going back to work. He had been given the all clear by his chief superintendent that day that his hepatitis was cleared and he could go back.
She knew the dog was with him and named the dog and its breed.
She knew what he was wearing at the time of the accident and even detailed how he had wrapped the dog in his jacket on finding her.
She knew that it was his relief that had been called to the scene and she said that he felt guilty that his friends had, had to see him like that.
She knew about personal things between my mum and dad and told me a few things to tell my mum from my dad that I had no knowledge of.
She knew about my time in the air cadets and how my dad was proud that I had joined but wished it was the police cadets instead like he had been. This was a joke we had shared as a family many times
Now had the hell did she get all that if psychics don't exist? How could she "cold read" details like that?

So I'll assume that some psychics are real and genuine. You have paid £50 to be told stuff that you already know?. Sounds like the biggest waste of money I have ever seen.
Has anyone on here been given information from a psychic that have enable them to prevent something bd happening?. Even if they can tell you everything that will happen in your life then it's not useful information if it's going to happen no matter what!.
Next time any of you go to psychic you should go in take a tape recorder with a mask on and don't say a word for an hour. Then see how much information you get from them!0 -

Did you not read my post?? I said a couple of times she told me several things even I didn't know. She also told me about my future with my then BF and it played out pretty much how she said including timeframes. She told me about a holiday I didn't even know was booked yet too as mentioned previously
If you are going to belittle someone for "wasting money" at least read what they put properly before going in all guns blazing.
Mine was taped btw and I took notes during it I only ever answered yes or no on the rare occasion she asked me anything.First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -

I know what's coming - how do I know this? An old gypsy talent known as Occam's Razor. Either you encountered the one genuine psychic in the whole world. Who is so dedicated to her craft she refuses to prove it under scientific conditions and claim Randi's million dollar prize. And is also a selfish cow who refuses to use her powers to prevent accidents. (If she was able to so specifically predict your father's accident, why didn't she tell you in the strongest possible terms to insist your dad stay away from cars or chainsaws or whatever it was for the next month? If she did, he'd still have his hand. Why doesn't she use her powers to stop disasters or terrorist attacks?)
Or your memory of the session is not quite correct. The simplest explanation is likely to be the correct one.
She probably made four or five predictions like the "someone will have an accident" which didn't come true at all, but you've forgotten them and only remembered the ones that could be construed as true.
The Gaelic name bit is easy, it wouldn't have been hard to spot that you had Gaelic heritage and all she had to do was throw Gaelic names out until you reacted positively to one. There aren't that many of them.
Why have they not claimed James Randi's million dollar prize?
Bloody good guesswork...
I've got an Irish/French first name.
She rightly called my father Seoc...Scottish Gaelic
While knowing he has a given Welsh Celtic name.....Alwyn
I speak with an English accent, the reading was done in England and no details of my birthplace or heritage were discussed at all during the reading.
She never asked any leading questions, in fact I hardly said a word during the whole reading, none of what she talked to me about are normal life experiences for a baby or child, She was 100% spot on with everything...
As for James Rand I highly doubt she had heard of him, she was in her 60's 30 years ago, was he already an arrogant idiot in the 80's?
.If you choose to not believe fine, but there are those of us who have personal proof that there are genuine people out there..
I'm sure there is more proof in their favour as nobody can prove true psychics don't actually exist.0 -
... there are those of us who have personal proof
There's no such thing as personal proof. Either there is proof or there isn't ... and there isn't.
If you get entertainment from being sold snake oil, or use it (even unknowingly) as a form of counselling, then that's your prerogative, but if you're going to put these ludicrous stories out there in the public domain then you have to expect people to point out what ridiculous nonsense it is.0 -

Of course there's personal proof...
Please provide proof that it is 'ridiculous nonsense' ....Can you do that?
Well someone did provide proof to me that there are genuine psychics out there...
Just because you choose not to believe something doesn't make unreal, you can't discount something you haven't tried.0
