If only it was as simple as a couple of freephone calls, as a rough guess it's taken about 16 hours of my time.
Know the feeling , not the same but some !!!!!!! wrote off my car last Thursday while it was parked outside my house, I am happy the driver and young Daughter are fine as somehow their car ended up on its side.
I have no courtesy car due to write off.
I'm missing gym sessions, if my Mum is working in the evening, as no car.
Spent an hour and 15 mins in a call queue to insurance yesterday to confirm write off.
Devoting time searching for the "right" car.
Whatever I have is nowhere enough for a decent new car and have to fund out of savings.
My excess is £345, I hope I get this back, otherwise more time spent sorting this.0 -

If you claim straight off the third parties insurance there's no excess to worry about.0 -

Wish I did now, but it was a shock to see, and hinself with his daughter both shaken, I didn't ask his details as felt insensitive, so the Police did instead when they arrived.
Also in the heat of the moment, had to take days leave to get car sorted and away, I just rang my own insurer. I have legal cover which helps.0 -
Im sorry to hear that but I can't see why you can't get a courtesy car, you should be claiming that from the other drivers insurance, the way I see things if you have not done anything wrong then it shouldn't cost you. I'd push them again, or get your own insurer to try. But I know that the payout for your own car always comes up short.0

Didn't know I had courtesy car on policy but it was standard, when reading terms it states if repairable courtesy car while being fixed however write off none, which I can understand to a certain degree as long do I have for it for?
I have been on both Parkers and Glass for valuation ready based on poor as this is most likely due to the driver seat clip being snapped off (3 door vehicle). But for 12 year old car only just below 80,000,.0 -
But it's the other drivers fault from what you say, so his policy should provide you with a courtesy car.0

Irrelevant as the insurer will claim all costs from TP insurer they can give him a courtesy car and claim it back.
Also that's why I take out the extra hire car policy to prevent being left immobile if I write my own car off.0 -

It's very relevant and will be within the terms of his policy.0 -

If he claimed off the TP insurance then the terms of his own policy become irrelevant.0
