So... who's done the school run in pyjamas?

Clothes intended for indoor wear only are not appropriate for wearing outdoors. End of.
For those who say we should be free to wear what we like whenever we like, would you advocate wearing bondage gear or a gimp suit on the school run?0 -
So.. bikinis (ie underwear) and shorts your bum cheeks hang out of, no underpants on the men with their skimpy shorts, camel toe flesh toned leggings, and shirtless men are all fine but a pair of lounge pants is not?? There is something very wrong with people .. but I'm entertained, alas I have to break a sweat loading the DW.. I'd brandish a duster but I don't own one.0

Pigpen, the majority on this thread seem to be against you.
What are the chances that we're all wrong and you're the one that's right.
Slim to none?0 -

I gave an example a working mum who does it.. so that deflates your prejudiced argument.. AND... I've seen dads in tartan loungepants too, one is a prison guard which I believe counts as work.. its not just mums.. shocking I know!

It's wrong for either sex IMO. Standards are slipping big time, and to me, it indicates a lack of pride in ones appearance and is slovenly.
For those who come home from a night shift, shower and then change into PJ's, why not just change into outdoor clothes and then change into pjs when they get back? Getting changed literally takes a minute or two, hardly eating into sleeping time.
I quoted the last bit, because I'm just curious what you use instead?!0 -
I've got more self respect than to take the sprog to school in night wear / lounge wear. The school run is hardly before sunrise, how hard is it to spend 2 minutes to pull on basic clothing?
I will probably get a pasting, but I also manage to apply make up too. My idea of slovenly is putting a hat on if my hair doesn't look tidy enough.0 -
Not the school run, I don't have kids. However, I have recently gone to the shops in my PJs, & I blame jet lag for that. Also I went to the shop in my bear onesie, I'd had a shower .... too. There's some great nightwear/loungewear out there right now, & it's probably better than some people's clothes. It's so comfy, & I don't care.0

PJs outside, mucky wellies in the bedroom, dirty pants for a duster. It's all the same to me ... Creates the same impression in my head about that person anyway.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0

I was erring on the side of PJs not being the end of the world in this hypothetical situation - don't have children, so it would be bizarre of me to turn up at school gates in anything
- but thinking back, my mum is the least 'morningy person' I know, she worked evenings until my younger sister was settled at school, but even so, she got dressed everyday, and not just in a tracksuit... And to be honest, even though I've never thought of it before, it feels pretty good to know my mum made that effort for us everyday. So, unless your world is falling apart like some of the examples given, I think it should be the norm to get dressed and pull a brush through your hair
