So... who's done the school run in pyjamas?

Parenting can be a nightmare sometimes, whether you have one kid or eight so there isn't always time to get as ready as you'd like when you're getting your loved ones off to school.
Anyone been there, done that?
I have to admit I've come close once or twice when I've overslept....

Nobody I hope, whatever happened to personal pride? It take a few mins to put your clothes on, nobody has to wear full makeup on the school run.Treat other's how you like to be treated.

No, never did, never would! The closest I've come is not to shower or apply make-up until I got home (occasionally) but I was still washed and dressed with brushed hair and clean teeth.
This is probably partly because I don't drive so always walked my children to school (therefore couldn't hide under a coat behind the wheel) and from the time when the youngest was 6 I was going straight to work after dropping them, so had no choice but to be presentable myself.
I do still find it a bit shocking to see people walking down the street in pyjamas with bed hair and panda eyes. It's a recent thing, isn't it? Don't remember any other parents in PJs in the playground when mine were little - now in their twenties.Life is mainly froth and bubble

It just makes the mums look like they're going to go straight back to bed once they get home and stay there until early afternoon0

If you're leaving the house in your nightwear you're either wearing no pants or yesterday's scuzzy pants. I would find it physically impossible to leave my house in either state; as I would hear my Nan's shrill, disgusted tones resonating in my head.
As an aside, I've recently found some old pictures of technicians from our university lab decades ago- all wearing shirts and ties and looking very smart. They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -
Never. It's not exactly early is it - after 8am, and I've always worked so not only have I dropped mine off dressed, I've also got myself ready, and the house sorted ;eg lights off etc) for a day at work.
Not sure why its such a problem when we expect teachers and staff to be dressed and ready to teach.
Really setting standards low for the kidsNever again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
I never did, it would be like going out in just your underwear.
I never overslept, as I wanted to get in the bathroom before the rush, so used to get up at 6am.
It's just pure laziness. Even if you oversleep, it takes just moments to quickly throw on some clothes and brush your hair. You can have a wash when you get back from the school run.
It also sets a bad example to the children.0 -
Never have done, never will. Even when I've been ill I have at least got dresses and brushed my hair for the school run.
I wouldn't leave the house without getting dressed, not even taking rubbish out to the binZebras rock0 -

Oh that reminds me. Out bin man comes at about 7 and I had a day off and heard the lorry. I shot out of bed, took the rubbish out (in my pjs) that I had forgotten, and the front door slammed behind me. My spare key was at a friends house about ten doors up. I felt like I was walking around naked. What was worse was that the school buses had started arriving so there were queues of school kids .Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0
