A few years ago my parent's next door neighbour started wandering around in her nightie.

She was taken away by a couple of men in white coats.

Absolutely not. Never. Wouldn't dream of it. I guess the same parents can't be @rsed to work either.

When our children were at primary there was one mum who always turned up in her nightie.

She was an alcoholic so I suppose he was lucky to even be taken to school at all.

The poor boy was a nightmare, disrupting the class and even jumped out of the classroom window one day.

    Very sad.

Never did! But like another poster, my son, our dog and I always walked to primary, and for secondary he took a bus from five miles from home so I would drop him then carry on to work.

On the other hand... I have been known to wear my BA pyjamas (navy, similar to a light track suit) under my coat to walk my current dog at 06.30 in the winter...

Never...although there was one day I wore my slippers by mistake and I only noticed when I was in the playground. Luckily, they looked like shoes (hence why I wore them by mistake), so no one else noticed. I was still mortified though.

I was in the supermarket the other evening, walking around was a group of people wearing nightclothes, it wasn't even late, certainly not late enough to be thinking of going to bed...I just couldn't.

It was the same in the days when we went on camping holidays, others would go to the toilets/showers in their nightclothes, I would get fully dressed before venturing out, even if it was for a wee at 3 in the morning (a bowl and soap in the tent would 'do' for the more personal hygiene before you could get to the showers)
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

No. I always worked and I don't think my boss would have liked it had I turned up in my pyjamas.

Are the parents who do this the same ones who always argue with the school rules on uniforms and hairstyles? The ones with the Daily Mail sad faces?

yep.. I got up.. took off my nightie, put on my comfy pj's and took children to school.. most adults I know sleep naked, pjs are slobbing in the house clothes not sleepwear!

And if I chose to wear a mini skirt, a chicken suit or a ball gown it is chuff all to do with anyone else... same as they say about rapists.. women (and men) should be able to wear whatever they like without risk of attack, physical or verbal!! !!!!!! they will want school uniform for parents next so they can fleece more cash out of them!

If one of the teachers can work there with her t!ts and @r$3 hanging out, pj's in the playground are the least of anyones worries!

... and.. I've worn my nightie under a jumper and coat!

PJs are a darn site better than fatties in leggings with a whole freaking camel never mind just its toe! .. :p

Last summer a mum turned up in a bikini top and a tiny pair of shorts with her behind hanging out.. but she wasn't wearing pjs ... gross! I'd much prefer to see anyone in pjs than underwear.

I wear jumpers in summer and sunglasses in the rain too... and I've done the school run in my slippers several times! And I only brush my hair once a week usually.. :p

not the school run; however i have had to do a "bus stop dash" when one of my my children, who catches a school bus, forgot their pass, I had to get there before the bus, as there is no later one. so put a coat on over my nightie with a pair of Ugg boots, thank goodness it was only round the corner and and did not have to get out the car.
