I have a friend does the school run in her pjs.. she works nights in a nursing home, gets home at 7am on a good day, covered in Lord knows what having handled bodily waste and dead people some nights, showers, puts on clean PJ's takes her children to school, then sleeps all day... Why would school staff know any of that?
Sounds like my next door neighbour. Except that, after showering she put on clean outdoor clothes to take the kids to school, before returning home etc.0 -
I managed forty years turning up, on time, for school and work appropriately dressed. Why should that have changed now that I am a parent?0

My neighbour used to stand on the front door step in the morning, cig in one hand, cuppa in the other, in a white towelling dressing gown with all the cooking stains down it :eek:Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0

People have none. I work late nights in a supermarket and often we have people in wearing pjs, but with a full face of makeup and immaculate hair. Gross.:j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0 -
I was always on my way to work, when I used to drop DD off at school, but wouldn't have worn pjs on the school run.It seems a bit scummy to me , even if they are clean"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

It's no harder to throw on a pair of jeans and a jumper or t-shirt, and far more presentable should you be taking your children to school, answering the door to a caller, or (in the case of the woman who lives opposite) nipping to the corner shop for your cigs ...
I sleep in the nude so put pyjamas/nightdress/kaftan on to let the dogs out in the garden, have breakfast and generally potter around. I wouldn't go out without washing and dressing but I wouldn't have any problem answering the door to somebody dressed llike that because I'm in my own home..0 -

Moreso people who spend all day in pyjamas. That's how I read it anyway. He said 'who would carry on wearing pyjamas once they have woken up?'
I know several women who do this, and they are, by a country mile, the laziest women I know who spend all day on the internet and watching telly.
I agree with this. I think it looks pretty naff when people are in their pyjamas out in public, taking the children to school. As someone said earlier, it reminds me of Waynettea Slob! :rotfl:
I don't really see the difference between pottering round in pyjamas when you get in and wearing then before you get changed to go out.
Going out in public dressed like that's quite different.0 -
Now that I'm retired I do laze about until about 10 before getting washed and dressed. I do feel very embarrassed if someone calls though and make a rapid dash for clothes.
I don't feel as if I can do any work, whether admin or cleaning in pyjamas.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
