Letter from 3 - end of an amazing deal...

Exactly the same as you stated....
Unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 4gb of data with tethering.
He went on and on about what tariff he might be able to offer me without mentioning an actual price and I was just waiting for him to say £18 or maybe £15 when he came out with £12. I had told him that I had found a good tariff on the new carphonewarehouse network (idmobile, which runs on 3) for £10/month which included 4gb data.0 -
Hi
For years I have been with 3 on the £15 a month deal includes unlimited everything, its the deal they pulled maybe 3 or 4 years ago.
However today they have written to me to say that plan is getting phased out and the most similar one they can put me on is £30 a month! So it doubles overnight!
Obviously I am going to call Retentions but wonder who else had got this letter and what deal you got after speaking to them?
Thanks
I also got my letter about The One Plan ending and a proposed change to a £30 plan compared to the £15 I pay lol !
I don't use huge amounts of data or calls and Three is still probably the best option for me so here's what I did -
1. Called them and they offered a number of options non of which was great.
2. Confirmed I did not wish to move to the proposed tarriff and requested my number be converted to PAYG at the end of the 30 day notice period.
3. I then purchased a new 12GB/200 mins/2000 Three to Three mins 12 month contract that had 3 months at half price and also qualified for £50 quidco cashback.
The new contact works out at £10.71 per month average over the next 12 months. I can tranfers my existing contract number once it transfers to PAYG to the new contract. In reallity my usage will be the same but I'll pay less and Three will lose out on some revenue from me over the next year.0 -
Just got my letter through this morning too.
Remember reading on MSE Forums that people had started to be moved off last year and have been dreading the moment the letter came through the door. Guess I'm in the same last group as everyone else.
Trying to way up the competition before ringing them. Love my Unlimited data, which to me is the important thing, free minutes not so much. Will hopefully get to keep the tethering as it's a feature that's worth it's wait in gold.
Good luck all.0 -

Tethering on Three is now max 12GB on AYCE plans. I'd playdown the tehething aspect as all plans now include it. Best of luck trying to get anthying good in terms of price/plan different to their website.
Some high usage deals to use as leverage -
12 month BT Mobile (EE) 20GB 4G data (non tetherable), unlimited calls £20 (£25 if you non BT)
12 month Vodafone 20GB 4G data (tetherable), unlimited calls etc £17 (after claiming cashback via mobilephonesdirect)

And decent customer service... Not had the One Plan letter yet, but I guess it's only a matter of time.0 -
I see this story is making the papers now.

I got my letter today was paying £20 for the one plan with unlimited tethering, heartbroken is an understatement!
Could live without the unlimited tethering but now without my beloved unlimited data.
Going to call them but am looking around for something similar, the thing is I can't find anything better and I liked being with three 0 -

I have tethered on bt for 12 monthsDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
It's made the BBC now as well (got their figures wrong, £17 tariff?)
