Good point - I will ask the Eon reps. It won't affect me as I only have my electricity with Eon (my gas is with Daligas)
But my brother is a dual fuel customer so I wont change him across until I know
Hi gt94sss2
Can confirm, provided both the electricity and gas are with us, your brother will receive the dual fuel discount. It doesn't matter that he might be on a different tariff. The discount only stops if he were to switch one fuel to another provider.
I missed this off my previous reply (post 130) but have edited now thanks to csgohan's timely reminder.
Hope this explains.

Finally managed to log in and run a comparison.
No MSE CEC BG deal appears on the list.
Oh, wait a minute, press show more results, and ...
"This British Gas fix is the cheapest dual fuel deal on the market"
I'm sorry, but you can do without that utter nonsense. It's in 12th place.
Say it's the best deal in certain areas, if it is, but don't say things which are patently not true without that qualifying remark.0 -
Hi Csgohan4
Just to confirm, we checked this with Eon. As long as you have both fuels with Eon, it told us you'll retain the dual fuel discount even if you're on two separate tariffs.
Hope that helps.
Spot on Dan. Thanks for posting this. :T

I must have missed something.. The BG deal is more expensive than the previously available E-ON deal.. So not much of a deal in my book.. Im sticking with my E-on Transfer.0

Hi MSE Dan, I've emailed the collectiveswitch address with the same question but thought you might be able to answer on here.
Is the British Gas deal portable or not, the email suggests so but Energy Club site says not.
The tariff is definitely portable (according to what BG have told us) - that typo has been tweaked now0 -
....oops. ignore0

@E.ON , I see your website says about 17 days to switch : https://www.eonenergy.com/for-your-home/help-and-support/changing-supplier-questions
Is that the same time frame when switching through a comparison website , or just direct on your website ?
Many thanks0 -
Perhaps you should warn people likely to move to do a search for both addresses, given what I discovered, as above, the CEC deal in 12th place for this supply area.
As a move of address, even within the same supply region, would almost certainly result in a change of usage, I would suggest such an occassion is certainly a time for anyone to run a new comparison (and especially so if you are changing supply region too), and only to bring their old tariff with them if that still proves cheapest0 -

It would still be "about 17 days", but you need to add on the time the comparison site takes to pass your details onto the supplier.
You need to ask the comparison site how long they will delay matters.
MoneySuperMarket (which is the comparison site behind the CEC) say they usually take 24-48 hours to forward your application.0
