    Morning molerat

Hope you found the Electric Only tariff. Details are at the end of the MSE email. Not sure where you and your daughter are at with your current tariffs but don't forget about the Price Protection window. This kicks in when fixed term contracts are coming to an end. It's open 49 calendar days before the tariff ends until 20 days after. During this time and provided we're told, we'll make sure you're prices don't change whilst a change of supplier goes through. Also, exit fees don't apply during this window so you won't pick up the £30 charge.

Sorry if this doesn't apply but hope it's of interest.

I had only seen the BG offering at the time - the E.On electric was too far down the list and is more expensive than the last collective.

In a fast falling (supposedly competitive) market the outcome of this collective switch is extremely disappointing to say the least!

I suppose we should all just be very thankful that they had the good sense not to award it to Extra Energy. :D

    Like you I will pass.

It looks like I will be staying with EON and moving to the Fixed 1 Year v19 Online tariff for electric (or maybe v20 following this.) :D

Zog Energy have recently stated that they are reviewing their gas tariffs and will announce updates shortly so I will sit tight and see how they respond in the next few days (I suppose they've been waiting for the results of this). If Zog don't come up with the goods very soon I will be going to EDF's Blue+Price Promise February 2017 for my gas.

It certainly doesn't bode well for the upcoming UKPower / iChoosr collective switch with results due on the 15th February.
New Zog tariffs on comp sites now. Cheapest for me - £40 saving but £30 exit or EDF next with £34 saving and no tie in. My daughter as a high user is still better off with EDF. Was quite happy with EDF previously so maybe bye bye Zog after 18 months.

Switched to E.ON electric-only tariff at 5.15pm yesterday afternoon, have just received email from E.ON confirming switch is completed. Online acct is updated as well. Only saving a few pounds per month as was on the September MSE Collective deal before, but it pays for a pint once a month.

Just need to argue about my DD now as it was set too high in the first place as we got rid of an electric shower last year, and switched to LED lighting throughout...but I'll save that fight for another day!

The panda is gone and the switch is complete. A saving of £120 a year plus the £30 cash back and I didn't pay my £60 exit fees.
I do like this switching malarkey. I switched from BGas to Sainsburys in Septemeber and got £30 cash back and now I'm switching back to BGas and getting £30 cash back. It feels nice to think I'm somewhat getting one over on them.
  • Finally got in. Filled in form to switch from BG to BG fixed. Submitted form. Server down message.

    I could actually cry.

How can I find out if the switch was properly submitted? I've been trying to get this done all day. I can save £35 a month!

Finally got in after trying all morning.

Yay, we were paying £78 to Sainsbury's due to go up to £97 in March, should now be just under £67 with BG. Fingers crossed it all goes through properly they estimate the saving is about £351 a year.
