I have just put in a request to change from the E.ON MSE Fixed 1 Collective Sept 2015 to the latest E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v19, only saving a bit but every penny counts.

    Elec,10.5p to 10.269p and gas 2.972p to 2.752p

    Hi robj20

Glad you've switched okay. Although the initial saving might be small, you'll have longer on cheaper prices so may see a more significant long term result. Now you're on one of our Fixed Price tariffs rather than a Collective and if you sign up for online Price Alerts, we'll email you if another version of your tariff becomes available.

Hope this is of interest robj20.

Appears that E.ON has now opted out of all the cashback websites  - no cashback payable for E.ON Version 18 - crafty move by E.ON and they want to increase my monthly payments, if I change!

Dual Fuel cancellation fee £60 to change providers - I'll wait it out, see what deals the other providers come up with. Maybe E.ON will opt back in to the cashback sites :D
Sorry frank777 but this is a new one on me. I've not heard about this so have sent your query upstairs to someone who will know. I'll let you know more once I have a reply.

I signed up for the E.ON uSwitch Fixed 1 Collective Oct 15 via Quidco :D and got an extra £30 cashback for dual gas & electricity switch. Maybe cashback worked because E.ON didn't provide collective switch on their website.

    Hi frank777

I've had a reply from upstairs about your cashback query. They tell me we haven't opted out of cashback schemes like the MSE one but this has never been open for existing E.ON customers except when switching to Collectives.

Under industry rules, cashback has to be open to both new and existing customers switching to Collectives via third party sites. With our own tariffs, though, you can't move from one to another through a third party like MSE's Cheap Energy Club. You need to go either through our website or our Sales Centre. As such, cashback isn't available for this type of switch.

You're right, exit fees of £30 per fuel apply if changing supplier before the renewal window (open 49 calendar days before the tariff ends until 20 days after). There's no charge, though, for moving between different E.ON tariffs.

As you're on a Collective Tariff, you won't receive a Price Alert email about new products even if you've opted in to this service. The Collectives are standalone tariffs and no future versions will be released. Best to check our website or the independent price comparison sites for new tariffs as this is where they generally appear first.

Also with Collectives, we're not allowed to promote them in any way as they're not one of our 4 core tariffs. To do so would break industry rules and possibly leave us open to large fines. This includes not being able to have them on our website.

Hope this explains frank777. Let me know if you need any more information or if I've missed something.

I know what you mean d70cw.

As I posted to Feral Moon above, I don't have an end date for version 19 yet and it could be withdrawn at any time. I'll update this thread once I know more. If you've signed up for Price Alerts, we'll email you if a new version is released.

Similarly to what I've mentioned above, once a new version is out, Price Alerts are sent in batches over a few days so may not be received straightaway. Generally, details hit our website and the independent price comparison sites first. There'll also be messages on bills/statements and Annual Summaries. If you have opted for Price Alerts, you'll be receiving an email about version 19 even though you've already switched. You may also receive one for version 18. It depends what tariff you were on before switching to 18. Customers on Collective Tariffs don't receive Price Alerts as these tariffs are one offs and future versions won't be available.

Hope this is of interest d70cw.

It has been a bit of a roller coaster recently Meadows. As above, I don't have an end date for version 19 yet but will pop it on here once I do. Also, if you've signed up for Price Alerts, we'll email you if a new version is released.

As you've gone from 17 to 18 to 19, you'll be receiving more than one Price Alert. As I mentioned to d70cw, Price Alerts are sent a few days after a new tariff has been released. For more immediate information, best to keep an eye on our website and the independent comparison sites as, generally, this is where they appear first.

Sorry for the deluge of emails Meadows but I hope this explains.

Thanks had the info on the V17 and waiting on V18, now V19 and also the alerts, lol. After the first drop I do tend to check regularly for a new tariff.

    Hi NittyGritty

You're right, the electricity unit prices and standing charges on version 19 of our Fixed Price 1 Year tariff match version 18. Unit prices for gas are, though, a bit cheaper. Standing charges are the same.

    Hope this explains.

You're welcome Meadows. Happy to help.

You're right, keeping an eye out for new tariffs is best. Helps you keep on top of developments not only with us but with the other suppliers too.
