If I switch to EON Fixed 1 Year v18 Online
    My gas would be 2.852 / 21.903
    My electric would be 10.028 / 16.903
    Total £61 a month ?!!?

A marginal saving but price security for longer period.

And as you are already with Eon you can swop in minutes on line.
If Eon were to bring out a better deal, swop again.

In my view it is a no brainier and you have nothing to lose.

On Uswitch Collective October-Electric works out £7 per year more & Gas £20 less so total is £13 saving for year-£821 v £834. Will hold fire I think as already a large way through Winter so Electric becomes the bulk of the cost.
  • E.On v18 already superceded by v19...

Electricity prices unchanged, gas unit price reduced to 2.686p per kwh

    Let the price war commence...

The downside is a longer lock in should another competitor come up with a better deal. And of course a £60 ETC if you want to bail out. For a pound a month, and given current price volatility, I'd stick.
If of course you are not going to leave E.On anyway, then switch.

The MBAs must be working extremely hard at E.oN. If you want the best deals then the 'devil is in the detail'. It is worth putting online discounts, and rewards to one side and looking at the raw costs for gas and electricity to see what happens if you exceed the annual projected usage before making a supplier/contract decision.

Appears that E.ON has now opted out of all the cashback websites  - no cashback payable for E.ON Version 18 - crafty move by E.ON and they want to increase my monthly payments, if I change!

Dual Fuel cancellation fee £60 to change providers - I'll wait it out, see what deals the other providers come up with. Maybe E.ON will opt back in to the cashback sites :D

Sorry frank777 but this is a new one on me. I've not heard about this so have sent your query upstairs to someone who will know. I'll let you know more once I have a reply.

Am I correct in assuming that the new v18 is AUTOMATICALLY going to replace the v17? 😕
I only had my paperwork today confirming I'm on the v17 .. confused or what!

Hi Kazzie-99 and welcome to the Forums.

Sorry for the confusion. As molerat says, we're not allowed to automatically roll customers on to contracted tariffs like our Fixed 1 Year products. As you're on version 17, you'll stay on this unless you tell us differently. You can switch online through our website or over the phone. There are also no exit fees for moving from one E.ON tariff to another so you'll not be charged for changing tariff.

If you've signed up for our online Price Alerts service, we'll email you about version 18 but, today, we released version 19 so you'll receive an email about that too. Sorry if this adds to the confusion. Price Alerts go out in batches over a few days so you may not receive this immediately. Full details are, though, available on our website or the independent price comparison sites now.

Sorry again for all the confusion Kazzie-99. Hope this makes it a bit clearer. Let me know if you're still unsure or need any more information as happy to help.

I'm not planning to change to v.19 as my collective Eon tariff remains slightly cheaper.

But just out of interest, if you are an existing EON customer and want to change tariff to one of the 4 standard Eon tariffs - can you use the cashback/comparision websites or does any change have to done direct via the Eon site?

I know if you apply for a collective tariff, you have to change via the collective site - and can't sign up to that directly with Eon.
