E.ON to cut average gas price by 5.1%

On Uswitch Collective October-Electric works out £7 per year more & Gas £20 less so total is £13 saving for year-£821 v £834. Will hold fire I think as already a large way through Winter so Electric becomes the bulk of the cost.
Just a quick heads up philng. As you're on a Collective Tariff, you won't receive a Price Alert email letting you know about new versions even if you've signed up for this service. This is because the Collectives are one off standalone tariffs and no future versions will be released. Best to keep an eye on our website and the independent price comparison sites as new tariffs generally hit these first.
Hope this is of interest philng but please ignore if you haven't opted in to Price Alerts.

I'm not planning to change to v.19 as my collective Eon tariff remains slightly cheaper.
But just out of interest, if you are an existing EON customer and want to change tariff to one of the 4 standard Eon tariffs - can you use the cashback/comparision websites or does any change have to done direct via the Eon site?
.
The cashback is part of a referral fee paid by the supplier to a third party comparison site etc. Even if OFGEM allowed them to do so - which they don't - why would any supplier want to pay you £30 to switch to a lower tariff? You have to use the supplier's site or CS unless you have signed up for a collective switch. Nice try - but no cigar! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Let the price war commence...
Just to confirm Ballymoney, version 19 of our Fixed 1 Year tariff replaced version 18 today. If it's of interest, you can switch from 18 to 19 straightaway without picking up an exit fee. Also, if you're on this 1 year fix and have opted in for Price Alerts, you'll receive emails about both versions.
Hope this is of interest.

Glad the information was useful Maxwell007 and that version 19 will save you money. As you're now on one of our Fixed Tariffs, if you sign up to our Price Alerts service, we'll email you about any new versions of this tariff.

I know if you apply for a collective tariff, you have to change via the collective site - and can't sign up to that directly with Eon.
Hi gt94sss2
As Hengus says, existing E.ON customers can't switch between our products and earn cashback through third party sites. You can, though, switch through our website or over the phone but no cashback I'm afraid.
Don't know if I've mentioned this to you before but, as you're on a Collective Tariff, you won't receive a Price Alert email about the new version 19 product even if you've opted in to this service. The Collectives are standalone tariffs and no future versions will be released. Best to check our website or the independent price comparison sites for new tariffs as this is where they generally appear first.
Sorry if I'm repeating myself gt94sss2 but hope it's of interest.

Know what you mean Feral Moon.
Don't have an end date for version 19 yet and it could be withdrawn at any time. I'll update this thread once I know more. If you're on our Fixed 1 Year product and have signed up for Price Alerts, we'll email you if a new version is released. Once a new version is out, Price Alerts are sent in batches over a few days so may not be received straightaway. Generally, details hit our website and the independent price comparison sites first. There'll also be messages on bills/statements and Annual Summaries.
Hope this is of interest.

I have just put in a request to change from the E.ON MSE Fixed 1 Collective Sept 2015 to the latest E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v19, only saving a bit but every penny counts.
Elec,10.5p to 10.269p and gas 2.972p to 2.752p0 -
I signed up for the E.ON uSwitch Fixed 1 Collective Oct 15 via Quidco
and got an extra £30 cashback for dual gas & electricity switch. Maybe cashback worked because E.ON didn't provide collective switch on their website.
UPDATE - Thank's Malc: I've signed up for the E.ON Version 19 and opted for Price Alert email - in my opinion the E.ON website deserves a ***** Rating + you do an excellent ***** Rated job on this forum0 -
switched to v.18 on Wednesday
switched to v.19 today
putting a calendar reminder to switch to v.20 on monday :P0
