Can you put me down for £460 for feb? This includes £20 alcohol budget and £40 eating out budget.

Went over my budget of £500 last month but was still pleased with how it went.

The £460 is for 2 adults, 1 teenager and 1 9year old, plus childminded children. Very reduced number of children in half term so that should be cheaper, but will have nephew for much of the week as well.

Planning on stopping veg box delivery (as youngest son is so fussy), baking own bread, attempting to make yogurt (keep failing!) and only doing one big shop a week (rather than the 2 I was doing). Got to head to aldi for store cupboard things but need to do stock check first as I've still got bits in cupboard.

Spent just 4.62% of my annual budget so far and ready to shop in February - just as soon as I can log into my HSBC account, which is not accessible for some reason (no secure server access!!). BBC News just told me they have a denial of service attack and all down. Oh dear!

Slight surprise when our Best Man phoned last night to say they would arrive at about 1pm on Saturday (DH forgot to mention they are staying for the w/e!) This requires a quick review of my list and meal plan and loads of cleaning, tidying and bed to make that were not in my original plan for today. My lady who does some gardening is ill so that is out. Ommm (calm thoughts!) - One in, one out, I can cope.

Off out to shop after medical appointment this morning I think.

    Good luck this month everyone!

I've been lurking on the Jan thread & adding up my receipts for the month - even doing that made me think a bit more about spending.
So I'm now ready to declare£330 for Feb. This is family of 4 for all food, toiletries & cleaning. It's a bit less than I spent per day in Jan and I'm aiming for a gradual each month. Looking forward to chatting with you all.
  • After a week of flu and not spending much on food I am back for Feb with the budget set at £250 for the month. Big shop today at the the local farm butcher and Al£I I have spent £120.06. The freezer is stocked full of meat so it should just be fresh produce fruit and veg etc. I'm hoping to come under budget for the next few weeks by only spending £30 per week. That would give me a saving of £40 for the month which we will save for a dinner out or day out!
    GC = £150.58/£250

I have an order coming from Mr T tonight, late on so I could get the cheapest delivery on pay day and to use a voucher that runs out at the end of the month for £12.

Total order is approximately £102 but includes 2 months of dog tins, 1 month of mixer, meat for the month, some frozen bits, tins and the usual bread, dairy and greenery and a load of diet RM for DH. Not the cheapest thing but saves me £5/day if there isn't an easy option for him to take to work.

Will pop back when the delivery has been received and I know the exact cost.

Got home from a very stressful day at work to find that husband has gone and done the weeks shopping on his day off (without being asked) so we can have a day off together tomorrow before I work again Sunday - Yay! However, £41 of £200 spent. I havent got to the butchers yet! I have spied a chicken in the fridge for sundays roast dinner - hoping that there is enough other food to get us through the week properly

    Evening all!!

Setting my Feb budget slightly lower at £100.00, should be doable.

Really love batch cooking just now, it's all comfort food which is very welcome in this dismal weather!

I would like to be in for February please. Done well lately but will have DD home for half term so think I will only reduce to £220. I've already meal planned for the coming week using what I know I have in the cupboards/fridge:freezer. Aiming for lots more NSDs. DS has offered to buy a takeaway one night too. Nice for me not to have to cook.
    Thoughts to all. Mrs D.
