    Hi all,

First spend of the month £88.00 - I buy my meat monthly and got -

    2kg decent quality sausages
    2kg minced beef
    2kg stewing steak
    60 boned chicken thighs
6 X Chicken supremes (posh breasts for a special meal)
    1kg coffee beans (my treat)
2 X 72 pack high quality dishwasher tabs (Bogof) and will last for months
1 X large lack Maldon sea salt
6 X hand finished steak pies (on offer)

This will all be portioned up, frozen and used through the month and beyond till its gone.

I will need to go and buy some basics from Aldo today (cat food etc) but not a lot.
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    £300/£130

Hi all, did my weekly shop at Aldee today. Spent £53.51, got plenty of fruit and veg, snacks for the kids and myself and all the usual diary, cold meat etc. Hoping to spend around £60 per week so will keep the £6.49 in my purse for any top ups.

I personally do monthly, but weekly would also work as I shop by the week, just like to have an overall idea of the meals for the month as I bulk buy my meat and like to have different meals throughout the month so I find it easier to see any duplications if I do a month in advance.

  • Can I join this month please.
I budget £320 per month but as the freezer is heaving I am trying to eat from there, I will therefore set £200 as the budget for February and hope having the kids off school for a week doesn't blow it!!

Tonight's dinner is cooking, Jamie's fish pie, and I didn't have to buy anything especially for it. Free meal (sort of)!!

First shop of the month done. £11.33 in Aldi, £1.32 in Lidl and £2 in Tesco so a total spend of £14.65. Every low but this was just to add fresh produce as we have loads frozen and in cupboards.
From aldi I bought bananas, oranges, natural yoghurt, onions, cheese, 2 x cucumbers, carrots, baking potatoes, ham, a pear (only the baby likes them), breakfast biscuits, milk, tortilla wraps and bread. In Tesco I bought dryer sheets, bleach and two packets of the everyday value yoghurts. In Lidl I bought cherry tomatoes, broccoli, jam and fajita seasoning. I also had to buy one reusable bag and two of the 5p bags as I forgot bags!

    Meal plans as so.

    Breakfast: toast, Weetabix or porridge.
Lunches: Lentil soup or sandwiches, piece of fruit, carrot and cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes
    Teas:
    1. baked potato
    2. chicken kievs
    3. fajitas
    4. lemon&herb chicken
    5. mini toad in the holes (made these with the leftover pigs in blankets after Christmas and froze them)
    6. tomato pasta
    7. stir-fry made up of the leftover turkey in freezer
    8. homemade pizza
    9. another baked potato
This is from tonight to next Friday :)

Starting my new job on Monday so no temption to nip out to the shops like I've been doing while on maternity leave. There isn't even any shops near my work either which I'm glad! Better for my waist band and my purse!

  • Good evening everyone, I trust all is well. Had my first spend of the month as it's payday, a Mozza's home delivery which came to £56.11. Hoping to come under budget again this month as I have the dreaded MOT :o We have a pantry and freezer full so we should be ok :)

Evening :) I've not quite finished January yet, but could you please put me down for £180 for February?
