I shop Wednesday to Wednesday, so weekly! I find menu planning easier on a week by week basis!
Happy Thursday everyone!

Evening all,
Happy to report a NSD on this side today.
Not expecting tomorrow to be the same as I won't be office based and the temptation to nip into a shop to buy a sandwich or something to snack on will no doubt overpower any willpower I have.Quick question for you all - how many weeks do you food plan for?
Still quite new to the concept of meal planning, but we plan a week at a time.January Food Budget: £0/ £500

Hi all
Hmmmm. I'm not really sure how my month is going! I did a smallish shop of £13.87 on Monday, nothing extravagant but lots of fruit and veg and meat. I'm on a diet at the moment and trying to eat a bit more meat and fewer carbs. It seems to be working, but meat is so expensive, so I'm jumping on offers when I see them!
Monday's shop was fine, but then I was at a loose end today and decided to pop into Morries. I ended up doing a full weekly shop there and spent £46.47! To be fair, I did get loads of meat and fish, so I shouldn't have to buy any more this month. I got a huge turkey leg (no idea what to do with it!) for £3, a YS rack of lamb, 2 huge YS fish fillets, a large bit of salmon which I have cut into 6 fillets and frozen, turkey steaks, and loads of smoked salmon.
On the bright side, I was given a £5 voucher at checkout so that can be used this month, and I should only really need fruit, veg, milk and bread for the rest of the month. It's just a bit of a worry to have used more than half my budget and not even be into February yet!
I need a hobby to stop me wandering into supermarkets!
I hope everyone else is doing well. :- )2025 goals

Evening all
Well I almost survived January, but realised that at the end, I need to take into account which day I'm actually going to go shopping for the week .... so this month, I've declared today the end of the month.
So, currently February's GC will run from 29/01 to 29/02.
Please put me down for £615 again, although the split is subtly different:
£615 (Groceries: £xx/£350, Takeaway: £xx/£140, Eating Out: £xx/£125)
less on the groceries than budgeted last month, but more than spent ... whilst less on the takeout which is significantly less than spent and more on the eating out budget which is more realistic of last month.
The big aim however is more home cooked meals and less wastage.GC - March 2024 -0 -

So budget for 1 - 28 February will be £120.00.:)
Hi again
I'm going to change my budget for February to £140.
Not being overindulgent but have had offer of super meat pack that will go in freezer and last through the next few months, so will be able to reduce budget more in March.
Batch cooking here I come!:)

Hi there, I finished January's challenge under budget so I would like to join in again this month but cut my spending down to £550 for the month.
I thought I would try a monthly amount instead of weekly to see if I can reduce it down further. This is to include all groceries, take aways, eating out, cleaning supplies and pet food.
I am still very well stocked up so fingers crossed it should be very possible, even though half term means I will have three hungry teenagers foraging for snacks all day.0
