February 2016 Grocery Challenge

Hi, I did well in January but don't want to rush things so can you put me down for £390 for February please.
I found it really useful to go to the offers for Morris**s and use them as my menu rather than choose random things and just pay the price they are. Doing it this new way saved me £25 over Mr T, Mr S and the like so feel pleased about that :jFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
OK. Having blown January (and still going!) I'm going for £275 for February. Food, including my protein extras, drink and INDULGENCE.
Have put in a protein order today, and the freezer is full, so I'm hoping its a more manageable month. Going from the 1st to the end of the month please.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Evening all, lashing down with rain here tonight .....
I was planning on doing a full weekly shop tonight, however, after getting caught in traffic for over an hour ... it didn't happen. DH did an "emergency shop" instead, so that DD&DGM have food for the weekend, whilst we're out. On the upside, he also bought his lunches for nearly a fortnight, including some YS soups
So, grocery spend of £17.40 and a Chinese for £24.80.

Good morning
I would like to join for February please, keeping my budget at £160 for the month. First shop was last night as I got paid yesterday, £41.72 at Sainsbugs. My savings against Asda, according to the till spit was £1.60. I am not sure whether to believe these figures, but I go there as it is on my way home from work or a ten minute walk away and I reckon the saving in petrol and time is worth a few extra pennies on the shop.
Just realised this is a 5 Friday month as I don't get paid til the 29th Feb, so will have to keep a tighter rein.Grocery challenge 2025: £1106/1500 annual budget0 -

£1.69 in B&M on 12 rolls, 1kg sugar and a sweet for me.
£2.09 in co-op on mash and 2 sweets for DS
£94.75 on a Mr T delivery
B&M had Hov1s strong bread flour for 39p if that is any use to any one. I bought one to make some salt dough models for DS school project but we don't eat gluten flour so I have taken it from a different budget.
DH thought it was great getting the delivery as it took less than 10 minutes from the delivery driver knocking at the door to have everything put away. Obviously this doesn't include the time I spent revising my order over the last 2 weeks, meal planning and what not;)
It did mean I avoided dragging DS and DH around the shop on a Friday night and having extra items put in the trolley.
I think I will book another delivery for 2-3 weeks time and see how we get on with that and a small fruit, sandwich meat and bread top up in between.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Hi everyone,
Well after spending flipping ages yesterday uploading everyone's budgets, my laptop decided to freeze and lose my entire hours' work grrrrr
Back on again today with work's laptop and happy to report that budgets are updated to here
Welcome/welcome back to:
Frizzlef, flipper_72, pajama, Horwich 7, mashedavocado, CRALISIS, becky2604, debbiedodge1737, Pixie Fairydust, Munchkinsmum, Cappella, Bullwood, Ch1979 and Trying_really-hard
Good luck to all.
I have resurrected my second purse. Did it quite successfully for a number of years but a period of unemployment for DH meant that I used this stock up without 'paying' for it. It certainly saw us through the hard times, so last month I spent £100 stocking up on meat from Costco, loo rolls, toiletries etc on bogof. At the end of January we had used £40 of stock so I paid that back to the second purse and have used it for a Donald Russell meat order (through Quidco so a bit of cash back too). DH latest job has just gone into a consultation stage, so may need to tighten our belts again.
I went to Aldi last week and stocked up on tins and dried goods for the cupboards. Have hidden plenty of snacks in a coolie bag in a cupboard in the garage, as if it's in the kitchen cupboard, the teens will scoff it all in days rather than it lasting a few weeks.
HM S/World beefburgers tonight and Aldi pork snitzel tomorrow for the family (I will have a SW ready meal). DD complained last week that every Sunday we have a roast, and as I am taking her to a rugby festival and won't be back until 5pm ish, we will have a 'normal' meal tomorrow instead.
Have a good evening all.

Hiya!
I've been MIA for some time however I'm looking to move into my girlfriends in March and we are going to reserve our new home tomorrow, so need to max the savings ready to pay the deposit (already substantial but the more the better!) and for all the other stuff that comes with!
I have a freezer and cupboards full of food and often eat at the gf's, so my budget this month is
£30
Which is stretching but doable I think- I will need to pack lunches and prep my food, stay away from canteen and vending machines, avoid buying lunches when visiting suppliers etcFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0
