Today is my new month - I bought a couple of bits yesterday bringing my last months total just under £500 for the month but I’m starting the month with a tank full of petrol, a full freezer and cupboard and I’ve still got cash from the money I took out 3 weeks ago so I’m more than happy.

I went into my local town after work as I was going to have a mooch around. I want to break the habit of getting in turning tv on and munching. My car has been a total disgrace for a while now - I haven’t had it or cleaned it myself since before the school summer holidays and was ashamed of it  Mr T used to have a car washing service which I sometimes used but it closed. When I went this evening I noticed it had re-opened. So I dropped the car off and had it cleaned inside and out. Very extravagant at £18 but I feel so much better for it - I hadn’t realised how much it was making me feel down - seems silly I know. It’s gleaming now - I threw the rubbish out and tidied a few bits I need to take into work into my boot - must remember to take them into work tomorrow. And I went into Mr T and relaxed in the cafe having a coffee. Not very MSE but I just needed it tonight. I got a couple of bits I wanted rather than needed too but I’m ok with that since I’m so well stocked already this month.

I came home and made leek and potato soup from my soup maker followed by pasta with bacon, mushroom and cauliflower cheese I’d made into portions earlier in the week - a bit of an odd combination thrown in a pan with a bit of garlic and extra cheese but it was delicious. So going out spurrred me on and got me out of my rut :D

Lol Beanie - I’m glad it’s not just me. On the last day of term in July I managed to squash an orange in my door:rotfl: it rolled off my knee just as i was shutting it and I squashed it :rotfl: what are the chances of that :rotfl::eek: it’s bugged me for MONTHS - how bad is that. But it’s squeaky clean now and I’m never going to get in that state again.....and I’m never getting a WHITE car again......

Pleased to read having the car cleaned gave your spirits a lift. The coffee in Mr T sounded nice too - sometimes we need that 'me' time to unwind after work. :)

I’ve had a lovely day today.
I went to SW this morning after all my shall I shan’t I....I was really pleased sw lady had overridden my missing weeks so I only had to pay for today. I’d ‘only’ put 1/2 lb on which is quite an achievement considering the rubbish that’s been passing through my lips in the form of snacks. So I mean business...it’s now or never:eek: (yes I know I’ve said that before)
Then went straight to the tram station, I got the tram and travelled to big town nearby where I met a virtual friend from on here - who is a now a RL friend :). We had a lovely afternoon tea in a posh restaurant and a bit of a mooch around town. Lol not sure if the amount of cream and cake I consumed is very SW but I enjoyed it and it’s only 1 meal out of 35 - so as long as the next 34 are ok I’m ok with that:rotfl:

I bought some birthday cards for the bargainous price of 20 for £1 - that’s 5p a card:money: maybe not the best quality but good enough, I treated myself to a new hat as my old one has gone AWOL at work....I don’t often do hats but it was a tad windy. And I bought a couple of new notebooks for £3. I want to make a diary with pictures, stickers and little quotes to help me stay on track with a few things. I often start diaries then forget about them after a week or so....let’s see how long this one lasts:rotfl::rotfl:

So a lovely day out for less than £25 including tram fare. I was very impressed as they have changed the pricing system for local trams into zones rather than stations.....I can now get into big town and back for £1.80.....I have a short car drive to tram station but if I want to get the bus into my little local town it’s £2.50 each way:eek:- maybe this has something to do with the demise of local town

Right off to play with my notebooks and pens....

Your day sounded great - and £25 all in including a posh afternoon tea is a real result!:j

And a good result as well at SW - cheap and 1/2lb on isn't bad if you've been snacking a lot. Onwards and upwards!:D

Your new diary sounds fun - good luck with it!
