We have had a thin covering of snow overnight - they did forecast the other day but then they changed their minds....they were right 1st time which meant I wasn’t expecting it so was quite shocked. It’s like a skating rink - my ave is slightly up hill and I watched a car skidding around the corner at the top - it was only doing a couple of miles an hour too. I went into panic mode and have phoned in work saying how bad it is and I won’t be in....the thing that scares me more than driving in it is walking in it - you can’t see the ice hidden under the snow. Since work is so good at risk assessing everything these days - I’ve done my own and I’m not prepared to take the risk of slipping and damaging my arm. It’ll be what it’ll be - don’t know if I’ll get paid as the school is still open. Dh has gone in work so I suppose I could have tried but I just panicked- feel quite bad about it but it’s done now.

So today will be a NSD as I’m not stepping out of the door. I’ll have a bit of a clean up after my visitors last week - lovely little fingerprints on the fish tank and patio door windows :rotfl: :rotfl:

Don't feel bad about it at all.

I was really tempted to keep the smalls home today rather than trying to walk to school.

Hope you have a good day

You are right - it’s taken me a long time to look after myself but I’m learning:D
I’ve messaged dh to bring some bread I so I don’t need to go out although it is melting where the sun has hit the ground.
I’ve done quite well sorting things after the visitors last weekend - dh will have to fold beds though as I can’t push the bed back to a settee with a dodgy arm. I’ve had breaks a plenty watching catch up tv in between. Just need to give the bathroom a once over then cook something nice for tea. I think I needed today in more ways than I realised. This snow stuff is very stressful......

Glad you made the decision to stay at home . We didn't have any snow last night here but some of the pavements are still a tad icy. The 50's diner sounded really good , and a lovely evening had as well.

    Have a good weekend.

There wasn’t a lot of snow overnight but it had covered the old ice and snow and created sheet ice  we had a few flurries throughout the day too but they didn’t amount to much. It’s nearly all gone now - hopefully we won’t get any more...I’m a right killjoy - the children love it :p

Talk about a lazy day - bacon butties and 2 cups of tea in bed.... I’m going out to little theatre in local town tonight to see sing a long sound of music - my friend bought tickets for my birthday. Not sure if we’re eating out or not - she is doing a wedding dress fitting so I won’t know until she’s finished as to what time scale we’re on.

Had an e-mail telling us the inheritance is now in probate so looking good on that score. No idea how long that’ll take though.

The other bit of good news is a little one from school whom I mentioned a while back was told the outlook was terminal - but after lots of nasty and invasive treatments is now in remission....fingers, toes and everything else crossed to hope it stays that way :T:T
