Well I had a fantastic night last night - we went to Pizza Express - we shared a pizza, polenta chips and salad we had a sweet each and 1 glass of wine each....it was over £40 - I didn’t pay but even so.... lol think I’m out of touch as I usually use vouchers or a midweek offer rarely a Saturday. I went with a friend I’ve known since I was 5 so we had a good old natter before going in the theatre - we sang and booed and hissed and barked like dogs as well as waving all sorts of silly artefacts in the air at various parts of the film - I’d thoroughly recommend it. And when they kissed everyone let off party poppers. Lots of people were in fancy dress - I’ve never seen so many dubious looking nuns with beards :rotfl::rotfl: We didn’t dress up this time but I wish we would have - I dressed as a goatherd last time I went with a different friend, but since we were eating first we chickened out. Think it’s my favourite film of all time
:o My friend bought the tickets for my birthday too...we were trying to work out how many times we’ve watched it together but decided it was too many.
Today we’re trying to get to see Stan and Ollie with vouchers we got for Christmas at a new cinema in local town - it’s a monstrosity outside - won carbuncle of the year award but it’s supposed to be good inside - we will see....January spends - £587.580 -
You probably read on my diary that I had a similar experience with Pizza Express re cost the other night. Really took me aback!
Your singalong night sounded absolutely wonderful! I must look out for the show as it's my sisters fave musical of all time and I'm sure she'd love it! Would like to have seen your Lonely Goatherd costume! Her ex was a policeman and years ago they and some of the other police couples went to see The Rocky Horror Show. Quite a few members of the audience used to dress up in the costumes - some were quite outrageous. Well a few of the policeman dressed up. Then outside the theatre there was an attempted bag snatching. Quite a show took place when the costumed policeman tackled the mugger!:rotfl:
Hope you get to see Stan and Ollie. It's great! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I knew I’d read somewhere about one of the pizza places being expensive on a diary SSG - I won’t be going back without a voucher of some sort. The trouble is there aren’t many eateries near the theatre.
Stan and Ollie was really good - quite sad. The actors were very believable. The cinema was good too - once we’d got into the place - the carpark was a bit of a maze - we couldn’t figure out where pedestrians were supposed to go - then it looked as if you could only purchase cinema tickets at a machine, we couldn’t figure out how to use the voucher - turns out you had to go to the counter that looked as if they only sold snacks.... a little sign saying tickets wouldn’t have gone amiss. The seats were the best I’ve ever sat in- there was a tiny table between each seat and the chairs were really big and they reclined. But a tenner a ticket for over 60s and 12 otherwise. Whereas if I go into big city it’s a fiver a go with more eateries nearby. I’d have to pay tram fare but we make a day of it so it’s worth it.
When we’d finished we went to big shopping mall - I’d bought a drink in M&S - went into my bag and my purse wasn’t there - mild panic as I last remember having it last night....then I back tracked to what I’d done this morning and I’d emptied my bag to hide some sweets in a side compartment which I can zip and sweets aren’t visible if they do a bag search going into cinema - I guessed I’d not put my purse back in. We came straight home to check and I was right - phew......it was a horrible feeling. Can’t be bothered going back out so we will be eating at home tonight rather than cafe rouge with a voucher that dh had planned.
This months running total is £390 I think - need to check. I spent a tenner last night on sweets and ice cream - my friend offered but she’d bought the tickets for the show and the meal - so fares fare:D 4 days left until my new month starts and it looks as if I’ll need petrol - dh has used my car several times otherwise it’d have lasted until then.January spends - £587.580 -
I can imagine the scene SSG at The rocky horror show :rotfl:
Beanie the little one at work is an amazing child - still got a sense of humour - laughing at the wig worn one day - never seen it since as it was annoying. Hair is beginning to grow back and eyelashes have reappeared. The scars though - no child should go through that. The medalical advances are so clever with what they can do. Just the delicate brain surgery would have been a no go at one time.January spends - £587.580 -
What a great weekend you have had . The singalong sounds wonderful. Losing your purse would put me in a panic as well, so glad it turned up.
Stan and Ollie has had a lot of people praising it , good you enjoyed it as well. The best news about the child at work , hope they continue to get better. The inheritance in probate is such a good thing to read as well. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Another £90 to my January total - £35 on petrol yesterday and £55 in Mr M stocking up on tinned, cleaning and fresh stuff. I could have managed a few more days and just got what I needed today and gone back in my new month after 7th but it’s done now and next month I won’t need to stock up. The weather was fine too so I thought it best - just in case we get snow and ice like last week. That brings my monthly spend £480 ish including celebrations for ds. I’m more than happy with that as I can’t remember the last time I had a cc bill of less than £800. Next month target for cc to be under £400 including treats, petrol and everything else. Hopefully I won’t buy anything else until 7th.January spends - £587.580
