Not sure what’s got into me recently - it really must be the time of year as I’ve loads to be thankful for. I’ve got the cash to pay my cc in full, a job I enjoy, a dh who’ll do anything for me, family coming at weekend but I’ve been so cheesed off. Eating everything in sight even though I need to get a bit of weight off for my pre-op next month.
I think I’m going to take the pressure off and save a fiver a week by stop going to sw....I’m just messing about.....but I actually enjoy meeting the people there.
Off to give myself a kick up the behind and good talking toenough of my moaning

It is how you feel and hopefully will pass soon.

We’re being taken out for tea with dh bosses and his work mates. I’m half dreading it - it’s a small family firm but there’s been a few staff changes recently after staff that had been there many years - I knew them all and their partners pretty well but this is the first time out with the new people - I’d much rather stay in snuggled in the warm but I’m expected to go....better go and get ready..... that sound really ungratefulJanuary spends - £587.580

It went ok - I had lasagne - wish I’d have gone for steak or chicken but I always feel I have to go for a cheaper option when I’m not footing the bill so I don’t appear cheeky - to be honest I prefer my own lasagne......there was too much pasta and not enough sauce. I didn’t have a starter as I wanted to save room for a sweet - I’m glad I had the pud
chocolate brownie and salted caramel ice cream which was worth going out for. It was nice seeing his boss and family but a tad hard going with the young apprentice who I sat next to - he was very quiet and we had nothing in common.....I was glad to get home. The place was heaving though - even on a week night in January - they had a half price offer on food though. I really am ungrateful
I should be pleased we were asked out.
I’ve only had 1 day where I’ve spent this week - rounded up to £15 making my running total for January £150...this coming week will be expensive though with family home and birthday celebrations for my ds. My January goes on until 7th February when my cc card bill comes in. I’m expecting it to be around £400 by then - if I can keep within that - I’ll be a happy Milan.January spends - £587.580 -
I think this time of year tends to make you want to stay in more - and it can feel even more of a hassle if you aren't really looking forward to the event. You're not ungrateful - it's just the January, post -Christmas blues!

Thanks for the kind remarks. Had a wonderful full on weekend with the family - shattered now though.
We spent the day at home chilling and playing on Saturday. I made a birthday cake for ds who is 40 tomorrow and eldest little one decorated it really well ‘all by herself’ and was very restrained with the sprinkles and sweets - didn’t even make much mess.My ds has to be surprised and not have a clue what she’d done in the kitchen :rotfl: On Sunday we headed to big town nearby and went to The Museum of Science and Industry. The kids had a whale of a time but it wasn’t as good as I’d remembered - I haven’t been for a few years and some of the attractions had closed down. It was bitterly cold though. We went to a restaurant for an early tea before they headed back - full MSE style 50%off food if the table was prebooked. Food was good but the service left a bit to be desired. Dd had paid £10 a head deposit and they tried to charge us full price and didn’t take deposit off - we soon put them straight and I was happy to see the bill of £85 for 5 adults, 2 children and drinks - couldn’t really argue with that.
So I was quite pleased to keep my spends at £170 for the weekends meal and food shopping for the week plus extras for the weekend. Running January total £320. Giving ds cash for his birthday as he is really difficult to buy for.
40 years ago tomorrow was thick in snow and ice, I had to take my own sheets into hospital as everyone was working to rule and I was paranoid about not being able to get to the hospital as ambulances were not running to full capacity. I was so pleased when they took me in to induce me :jJanuary spends - £587.580 -
