I love Christmas cake but only eat a little bit of icing and marzipan - think it’s something to do with the amount I’ve scoffed over the years when decorating cakes :p

I went into work and have been so tired since plus using my voice has made my throat so sore. So I was right staying off and maybe I should have even stayed off another day too. But we’ve broken up now for 2 weeks and I’m so ready for it.
I need to do a bit of food shopping for when we come back from dds and organise myself for going but I’m more organised than usual....either that.....or I’ve forgotten about lots of things.

Sw at 8.30 in the morning....not expecting much but it’s keeping me focussed a bit.

I had some nice presents from school - thankfully not too much chocolate. But some smellies. We decided on a secret Santa this year rather than individual presents so it was much better and cheaper as it was getting out of hand with staff buying for staff.

Glad you're feeling better just in time for Christmas :)

I thought I'd got everything for Christmas until a couple of days ago when I realised I hadn't and the list keeps growing!!

Where has time gone....all the preparations and anticipation and it’s gone in a flash. I had a lovely time at dds - lovely food and it was great spending time together. It was full on though with a 5 and 2 year old but I loved every minute. We managed a couple of nice walks by the sea. The little one was so funny - she is a ‘character’ and wouldn’t let me out of her sight just in case I vanished home again. When I came to say goodbye she said ‘cmon gammar’ got my hand put her hat on and was ready to come home with me....wish it wasn’t a 5 hour journey (with a 20 minute loo break) each way in good traffic. I was pleased to see the presents I’d bought them being well and truly used - little one made toast and cups of tea virtually all day with the wooden tea set and food I’d sent to the big man in the red suit and older one played all day with the Lego - so successful shopping trips I’m pleased to say.

Father Christmas spoiled me with a soup maker and new food flask - no excuses now then:rotfl: I also got tickets to see The Halle Orchestra playing ABBA on Sunday in big town nearby - I haven’t been to anything like that since I was at school so it should be an interesting evening in a lovely theatre - might even go out for tea first.

Today has been a lazy day - I went out and bought some ‘nibble ’ food and have been grazing all day whilst watching catch up tv. Doesn’t bode well for SW tomorrow morning but it will be what it will be. I’ll need to pay whether I go or not and I have been a little more mindful over Christmas than usual - just a little bit mindful :rotfl:

I’ve got some close friends coming tomorrow - I’ll have dh on potato peeling duties for a big meat and potato pie. It’ll be a relaxed day. Friend has just been told he has dementia which I’m gutted about as we’ve been friends a long time and had plans to do things in our retired states - so we’ll carry on doing what we can for as long as we can.........

It’s my mums anniversary today - 42 years. Seems a lifetime and 5 minutes all in one breath. So I’ll have a little toast to her quietly later.
I’ve worked hard at finding a way to remember her without getting too down over Christmas....but I think her love of a real Christmas is always at the back of my mind...

Went to SW this morning and gained 1/2lb. I’ll take that happily over Christmas :D

Enjoy your ABBA on Sunday it will be brill. I am hoping to make it to see Wicked at 2.30. You must have been very young when your mum passed away. It's nice that you can toast her later.

    Have a good day x
