Glad you like your soup maker, I love mine, so easy
The afternoon tea sounds great
Boo to your arm hurting. My ankle still plays up 2 years down the line. Now and again it just throws me off balance randomly and still aches if I do too much.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Sounds like you have had a great break from work , enjoying many trips out , seeing people etc. I especially liked the sound of ABBA event you went to. My mum and I are going to the same venue in March to see Anton and Erin from strictly . The cafe you had afternoon tea in sounded wonderful , I googled it and have put it on my like to visit list so thank you for that.
Enjoy Sunday, hope the DGC are getting better now as well. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
CL it’s definitely worth a visit - a throwback from a bygone era. They do some good shows there too.
SA it’s surprising how long it takes for things to recover after injury isn’t it. I’m hoping the op they’re recommending sorts me out - it’s driving me mad
Seaside gal the place in York is lovely but the queues are horrendous- I know the overheads must be enormous there but I really don’t like the prices they charge:eek: That will be reserved for the next big special occasion
Back to work today - it was nice to see everyone and the children seemed happy to be back. It was good to wind down properly after Christmas but I do prefer time before the big day rather than after. I didn’t like getting up in the dark though. I didn’t sleep well as I was convinced I’d oversleep - which isn’t likely as dh gets up too and never sleeps in.... It was dark and horrible coming home without the Christmas lights too....I think this time of the year is just dire.
I need to do some number crunching. My month ends on 7th - today, when my cc statement ends. I should be able to pay again in full this month but it’s another high one with Christmas- I feel a bit on catch up and paying most of my wages on my cc. I need to redress the balance so I’m not just paying my cc come payday - then I need to get some savings rather than living month to month. :money:I remember in the not too distance past when I was using my overdraft and cc to the max - I’d have been more than happy with the way I am now - never mind dreaming of savings :money:
My ds has a big birthday at the end of the month - going into new numbers - not sure how that happened at all. Other than that I shouldn’t have much to spend on as cupboards and fridge are looking healthy. I need to stop popping into the shop for odd bits and coming out with a bag full though.
So new month and new cc bill starts tomorrow along with my spending diary.....I’m aiming for 4 NSDs a week. I’m not counting my SW into that.January spends - £587.580 -
I must admit that I stack up on the Fat Rascals whenever I'm in York. I also treat the boss to some of their shortbread. He loves it! It's rather dear (as we know!) compared to the more cheaper, regular kind but it's nice to get him something he likes occasionally as he's the proverbial bloke who has everything!
I'm with you on getting up in the dark! Though there was a lovely sunrise over the estuary on my way to work this morning so it's beginning to get lighter! When I was up in Scotland last week sunrise wasn't till 9am!

I hadn’t realised there was such a difference in sunrise times...
The fat rascals are rather nice - I usually nip in and get some to take away when in York too.
Things have gone quiet on the inheritance front again....talk about long winded....but it’ll be what it’ll be. In between times I’m continuing as if its never existed and planning my future without it. If it ever arrives it’ll be a bonus:D And by the time it’s shared with all the family it will make life a little more comfortable- not enough to change it. Maybe a nice holiday.....
We have a big change happening soon when dh cuts his hours as he gets his pension. There will be quite a cut in the household budget. I just want to be as prepared as I can be. I could kick myself for wasting so much money in the past...hindsight is a wonderful thing:p
NSD today and even with the cost of my new tooth and Christmas I’ll pay my cc off in full when it’s due - happy days :money:January spends - £587.580 -
