Well done you on being debt free again. The Christmas cakes sounds lovely as well. Look after your wrist though , you don't want it out of action for Christmas.
Hope you get back on the internet properly very soon. Not long till you finish for Christmas, is it about 3 weeks ?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Christmas cakes sound lush! And congratulations on become debt free again!:j
The gift of the cake to DH's boss is an excellent idea for someone who has everything - especially as she is a foodie. My own boss is very wealthy and I give him golf balls every year as he's a big enthusiast and a good player and I haven't a clue what to get him otherwise! I asked him once if he'd like something else but he said no - as they get lost, wear out out and he takes some to his holiday home abroad for when he plays out there. When I give them to him I always tell him here's some more of my mini home made Christmas puddings!:)
Hope your wrist feels better now. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Well I’d planned putting the Christmas decorations up today but had a lazy start then remembered there was a Christmas craft open day at a local brewery and their shire horses would be there - I’ve been meaning to visit this place for a couple of years - anyway we stopped what we were doing and went there instead. Not sure what I expected but it was a bit of a waste of time - the horses were handsome chaps though and beautifully cared for. I’ll visit the brewery tour another time. We popped into supermarket where I’d parked and to b&q where dh picked up another decoration for the garden - we tend to buy a new one every year. By the time we got home my get up and go had got up and gone....so it was a case of sitting with a cuppa and Saturday tv:o.....so tomorrow morning I’m not messing with a Sunday lie in - straight up and get the decorations done. I’ll do inside and dh will put some in the back garden and make his railway Christmassy. I do like it when it’s decorated for Christmas. Then we can sit and watch his trains at dusk all lit up with a glass of mulled wine - it’s my favourite time with his trains.
I bought a couple of Christmas presents and treats too (along with a bit of shopping for this week) whilst in town - £60 I hadn’t intended but I’d have bought them at some point. And since we visit dds - we provide some of the Christmas treats whilst she does the food and in-laws take cheeses and wine to spread the cost - I can’t complain at buying the treats I bought today as we get very well looked after whilst there - quite spoiled in factJanuary spends - £587.580 -
Put most of the Christmas decorations up today - I did inside and dh did outside. My heart wasn’t in it though and it took all day, and I still have to decorate my sideboard with some of the houses etc I put there. I think it’s because I know the gks won’t be visiting over the Christmas period. They’d love it - but there’s only so many weekends in December and it simply can’t be done. Ah well I’ll see them at their house - really wish they were nearer.
Ds came round this afternoon I was going to cook but he took us out instead - only to w’spoons but it was a nice surprise. I’m going to help him do his tree next weekend before I go out on my Christmas do with work.
My sw is putting extra sessions on so I think I’m going to change from a Thursday to an early Saturday morning one. See if it makes any difference January spends - £587.580 -

I don’t usually do them this early Beanie but I seem to have a busy schedule this year and it’s now or the weekend before Christmas and since I’m at dds for Christmas I won’t see them if I leave it until then. It’s just the way the weekends have fallen I suppose.January spends - £587.580
